Good to know! I had no idea that was all the case to be honest. I was kind of miffed as to why I was first in line, Number 1 placard, yet was called up 2nd for my group.

Just as an aside: While waiting downstairs in the elevator waiting room (I have aptly named this the "tetris" room for the odd shape of it) one gentleman told me that a girl was about 10th in line had scheduled an 8:15 appointment and was trying to enter through security at 7:45. I was shocked to hear that security turned her away when they learned of this and told her to come back at 8:00. The lineup was approximately 60 deep when I (first person in line) made it in. I would be horrified to hear that.

If all K1 visas are at 7:40, then she must have been for another visa type?

Perhaps, because I too heard of people being turned away for being too early, I imagine they must be for different visa types because from what my understanding was that everybody with a K1 visa interview, interviewed at 7:40. Whether that's dated information, I'm not too sure. They could schedule in groups now, like 7:40, 8, 8:20 etc.

As of the "tetris" room...it reminded me a lot of sitting outside the principal's office after a fight in the school yard. Also had to laugh a little under my breath at the passport style photo booth.

There was that certain air of "you are down here because you are in trouble" feel, eh?

But, don't lie, without a cellphone and that booth sitting right there, there was a small part of you that wanted to snap a few pre-interview selfies....surely this thought never crossed my mind :P

You have no idea haha, or sneak candid shots of the miserable security guards for my snapchat. Oh well, nothing fun about the government.

I just had my last shift at work at then end of this week, so hoping the wait isn't much longer....

I can only wish you the best of luck, once again. Here's to hoping that the visa Gods smile down upon all of us waiting at this point.

I fired off an email to the consulate late Thursday inquiring about the holdup now that the backlog is completely gone. If I receive an email tomorrow I will surely post any relevant information.

I was have 01 but I am IR1 and my appointment was at 8 AM. There were about 10+ people in front of me in the line but my interview time was at 8 and wasn't turned away. I don't remember what number I was since I was nervous but it was like 12ish. There was a spider in the basement when we were there and I was freaked out. There was also a lady in front of me who was sponsored by her mom. I was nervous the entire time and I had to poop sooo bad that early. Once we got up the elevator, the women's bathroom was super crowded and had a line up haha. They started calling the numbers and one of the girl was on the potty. I was sooo nervous. The officer was really nice to me. I had the original court papers that I need everytime I travel to US. I told him that I needed them back and he was like don't worry, you can still travel in Canada which gave me more promise that I would get my visa in couple of weeks. He was really nice and once he gave me 221g which I didn't know what it was at that point. I just stood in front of the window and he didn't say anything. Finally, I was like should I go? and he is like oh yes yes. Little did I know what that 221g is worse than hell and now it's been 5 weeks since the interview I had.

Haha, your post was a roller coaster ride from start to finish.

I was really nervous too, hm. I wonder what 01 could mean then since you prove my theory otherwise haha

I sent them 4-5 emails last week. I'm hoping for an answer to one of them tomorrow.

Haha Danielle, yah it really was. The weirdest part was the girl in front of me didn't have one of those shots required for medical but she got an approval. I think it depends on the guard, what they believe and how they want the application to go. There was also another guy who didn't have his medical but I have no idea what happened with him. All in all, it was definitely an experience. The treatment was amazing but I think they are abiding by the customer service rules that they have on the consulate website. I wish they had more rules on how they would treat us after the interview. Best of luck to everyone in the coming week and hope we all can post happy news.

By the way, I also sent an email over the weekend so I will hear something as well this week.

Wow. What a day you must have had with the ups and downs. I know mine was filled with similar ups and downs.

If I may ask, what was the 221g issued for? Were you missing some documentation they required? Was there some type of background check/follow up they required? Did they even make mention of this to you at all?

I am just curious as I wasn't issued one, yet I have seen some people who have been waiting as long as I have get issued one.

My in laws did the affidavit for me as my husband is here in Canada with me. The 221g he gave me is that we didn't do I-864 from my mother in law. He said since my husband isn't part of the household there and lives with me here, my in law need to give signed I-864. He put very specific instructions on 221g, it was like this "I-864 from XXX". I send that in right away and they received it on June 4th at the consulate which is what I got the date in an email when I did an inquiry.

It makes me feel worse to see you and Danielle who has approved interview not getting their visa yet. I wish the process was written more in detail than just a general one or they were able to provide us more information. Even the statuses do not make any sense. I really do hope this long journey gives us a happy ending this coming week. I am barely able to endure this any longer.

Update:

Well, I am a tad confused. Whereas I expected my next step to be "Issued" (in all honesty that is what I read), my case has now been updated (once again) to "Administrative Processing" with the same message following the status updated case:

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks, or longer. As explained on the day of your interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.

My timeline for the CEAC website is as follows now:

May 14: Interview

May 15: Case Creation Date (Ready Status)

May 22: Still in Ready (status update)

May 27: Still in Ready (status update)

June 3: Updated to Administrative Processing

June 16: Still in Administrative Processing (status update)

June 17: Back in the Ready position.

July 6: Updated back to Administrative Processing

Yeh it finally says I'm getting it in 5 days

ISSUED

Status Updated Date: 06-Jul-2015
Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than five (5) working days, please go to http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courrier_information to track your courier waybill.

Hey Trenz,

I am thinking that the quick turn around time might be due to them clearing up their backlog, me on a CR-1, and/or having a Nexus card, as they confirmed the latter with me.

Thanks for letting me know! That was an awfully quick turn around time for you!

Ah yes, the standard reply the send AKA we just aren't going to tell you anything. I haven't received a reply yet via email. My case was finally updated today to AP (again) after not having been touched since June 17th. Urgh. This would be almost comical if it weren't so sad for so many people.

I am thinking that is exactly the case! You probably had your application done at exactly the right time with them working feverishly to clear that backlog, so hey, good on you for it! The Nexus card definitely would not hurt either.

I finally got an email back from Montreal "please note your case is under review and we'll notify you with any updates"

Look on CEAC and nothing. Not since June 30th. And since I'm pretty positive if you don't see an update first thing in the morning you won't see an update...I'm assuming this is another let down day for me.

yup standard it is. They usually update your status date if you sent an email inquiry...
