My honest guess is the magic of databasing. My guess is a consular official updated the case number to "Issued" then it just was a bit of time before the uptake on the public end of things. I think it was probably issued yesterday and the system only updated today. That'd be my best guess, as you're right, no one is working there today.

Yeah that's probably the case. I'm just really hoping to be out of AP tomorrow, I mean I know AP is like the last of the security checks, but I'm hardly 20 years old and I've done nothing criminal so my record should be really clean...but I doubt that that is all administrative processing does

One thing that was pointed out to me was if your name (I assume first, middle, last) are quite common you may be subject to a bit more scrutiny during the FBI background check. Moreso, if your name got a hit in the database, despite the fact it is clearly not you, then I assume even more checks need to be done.

Believe me, I have a spotless record but my name is quite common, so I chalked it up to that. I do believe however that you're right in that more happens in the AP phase than the background check. I was stuck in AP from June 3 - 17, so take from that what you will.

It's odd to me that they don't make you submit fingerprints before the interview, so they can do all the biometrics before you get there. I mean, either you are approved at your interview or not approved. I don't see how they can say "you are approved" the day of the interview and then do a background check, possibly then denying the visa. Seems to make much more sense to only invite those for interviews who have already passed the check. My 2 cents, anyway.

I'm dreading checking my status tomorrow, because everything in me hopes for an "issued" status but I have a feeling this will be yet another thing that doesn't go my way haha. It's just so frustrating because my fiancé needs to hand in his time off from work really soon so he can help me move

I totally agree. This would not only work to reduce these uncertain wait times but would also help expedite the whole process in other areas too. Then again, what have the powers that be done that make logical sense?

Right there with ya. It just feels more like a daily let down than anything else when I log onto the CEAC website. It is very tough when your hopes are running high only to be dashed.

And I forgot to say to my fellow canucks, Happy Canada Day! :)

Congrats boardercrosser! My hopes got so high with seeing that someone got their visa issued and status was changed for another one that may be it's a miracle that they are working today and we would all get our visas issued today. It would be like the best thing to happen on Canada day. But it turned out to be one of those days where I checked my CEAC status and NOTHING has changed. I am losing hopes and am almost thinking this whole visa is a myth for me. This has been a long process and to be dragged out like this at the last minute is just soooo dreadful.

I honestly think that I wish the Montreal consulate have better communication after the interview with the applicant. Other embassy locations seem to do so much better...

Parents had interview June 9 which they had to submit a document and it was done right away. I had 4 updates since then and then today one parent updated to "issued" while the other stayed on ready but date changed to July 1st, so yay I know it's closer and that Monteral is getting things done!! Good luck everyone, hopefully we will all see issued soon!! The ones who have got issued, please share the next steps and experience of how long it took to relieve the visa in hand?

It does seem like everybody got their visa printed today doesn't it? Every day is precious time and Canadians lose two this week because of Canada Day :(

Yeah for sure :). My interview was on May 27 and was missing one document which they received on June 4. I am going on my 5th week. I have an internal transfer for a job that I should start on June 6 which I am going to end up losing. I have a rental here that I am able to extend until end of July. This is sooo much more painful than anything.
