And another day goes by with no change. Our file was last touched on June 23.

This Thursday will be ELEVEN WEEKS since our clean interview. Our file hasn't been touched in a week.

I can't even get a call back from our lawyer any more, and our congressperson told us "case closed." Truly feeling helpless.

I wish someone, somewhere would provide answers.

Thanks for letting me vent.

wow!! 11 weeks! that's very frustrating... I wish ours would not take as long

At this point I have really lost all faith in this entire process, as I am sure you have too. I have zero faith in the idea that any consular official is working hard on my file/cares about it as much as they claim they do.

If you happen to follow up with an email to the consulate I would really suggest throwing one point out there for whomever reads it (as I plan to do if this process is ongoing much down the road): Our medical results for a visa are valid for a period of 6 months total; not 6 months from the interview date or point of entry, but from the day the appointment takes place. I am unsure of how far back previous to your consulate interview your medical checkup was, but if you are over the halfway point for those results to stay valid I would highly suggest making note of that in an email.

Who knows? Perhaps if it is just laziness or apathy that is preventing a consular official from getting to your file this might actually make them think twice before letting the medical lapse. This is of course assuming anyone actually cares about our files at this point, but it is worth a shot.

Movement on your case is a good thing! Looks like you are nearing the finish line and should see "issued" by the end of the week! Fingers crossed for you!

Don't let the AP stage get to you. Everyone enters that at one point or another. How long of a wait you have in AP is anyone's guess, but unless you received a 221(g) for a request for more documents this is all just part of the normal process.

Chances are you will now be in AP and make a return to Ready then on to Issued (if from what I have read is correct). What the timeline is for that movement I can't say, but I wouldn't worry about a movement into AP.

In the last hour I went from Ready to AP to Ready again. They are definitely working hard in Montreal. I'm hoping this means I'll see "issued" very soon!

Hope for all of our sakes that you're right! I've been checking CEAC like crazy

*sigh* I haven't had any movement since June 17th. I can only hope all this movement on everyone else's applications means that they are getting ready to do a massive printing of all remaining visas all at once. Wouldn't that just be nice to have all the rest of us be put into "Issued" at the same time?

that would be ideal, wouldn't it? Just wishing it would go to issued so I can start breathing again. Only can imagine how you feel.

my status updated to June 26 today. Now its gone from June 16, 23 and now 26 in ready mode. This process is so fffd up. I think these french people want their own independence from Canada anyway. And are pissed off they still have to correspond in english and not french. My wifes interviewee was really rude. And threw her papers back at her after she didn't need them. They really don't care 2 cents about us. Its curious on so many levels why Montreal is the only place that issues immigrant visas and the fact you have to stay at least 10 days there if you want to do your medical before your interview. Good luck to everyone. Hoping no more curveballs to deal with.

Judging by your timeline, it looks as though we are nearly identical in dates for the medical and interview. I know exactly how you're feeling. It is absolutely frustrating to be waiting so long and then to come on here and see so many other countries issuing visas today is just another kick while we are down.

It is indeed curious as to why Montreal is the sole Canadian consulate to deal with family visas. Heck, I would expect at least one more to be located in another major city. I believe Toronto only deals with business/work visas? Whatever the case is, Montreal has this nasty little track record of either being unusually fast or unusually slow. The royal kicker in all of this is that none of us have anyone to call and complain or inquire to. There is obviously some sort of disconnect in Montreal in comparison to other consulates world wide with comparable population bases.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but by 5pm today I either have to sign another year lease on my apartment or put in my 60 days notice. Everything in my timeline has worked out up to this point. My interview was smooth and I was approved. The million dollar question is, will I see my passport back by August 31st? I was guaranteed by the CO that I would receive it within 2 weeks of the issuing crisis being resolved, which has happened. I want to trust in fate that it will be issued within the next 2 months, but the few who have waited longer on these message boards gives me pause. I really don't know what to do... *sigh*
