means they definitely worked on it.

Yesterday both the case creation date and status updated to June 26th, as well as the text on the bottom and the top says "Non-immigrant visa" instead of immigrant on my case.

Hope it means something good.

I hope so too!

it's been a long 4 weeks of wait already.

any clue why they changed it to Non-Immigrant?

Honestly, I've read that when they change everything like that, it means they're preparing to issue your visa. I'm hoping that's true, but I'm not keeping my hopes up too high yet as I've learned not to do in this process lol

That's the spirit! lol.

In all seriousness though, I have read that this can be a good indication that things are finally progressing with your file. Not to be cynical here, but I had this change from Immigrant to Non-Immigrant on June 17th and was placed back in "Ready" but have not seen any movement since. As to the pace they move once you hit this stage is anyone's guess. Other consulates around the world seem to have visas issued within 2 days once someone enters this stage. Whether or not Montreal decides it is time to finally show us serfs some love is a tough guess.

Here's to hoping that this is good news all around! If that all around doesn't include me, I will curse you all :P

Good News!

Mine finally moved to issued!! Last update June 25th. The message on the CEAC website says that I should receive the email from Loomis within 5 working days to go pick up my passport. I hope they are not the same kind of 5 working days they told me after my interview on May 12th...

One step closer.

It is tough to stay strong. I myself am not the longest waiting person in this thread, actually. Another member has been waiting since April, I believe. My faith in this entire system wavered a long time ago as there seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to why some applications are done quickly while others take as long as mine. When you have had a flawless interview without the need for further documentation, you begin to wonder what the heck exactly is going on. Almost all of us here who have been waiting did not have any hiccups in the process, so we are left wondering what can even be done at this point.

You could very well end up being of the camp that has your application processed quickly, perhaps not. I wish I could give you a better explanation as to why you may or may not be, but I cannot. I have contacted Montreal and my fiancé had her senator involved but all of this has not seemed to get my application to "Issued". I have not received any explanation as to why.

For your sake, I do hope your application is processed quickly now that the system is back up and running. Let us know on this thread how things progress.

Thank you for your insight Trenz. My case was changed to a 'Non-Immigrant' visa and the date of creation and update have been changed to June 25th as well. I sincerely hope that this is a good sign. This entire process has been so long and taxing on my family. Mentally, physically and financially. I'm just really ready for the next step, I just want to be with my fiancé and step daughter. Her mother is not in the picture anymore so I'm really the only mom this sweet little 8 year old has. My kids are like 2 racehorses that have been kept in the starting gates for too long. We are all just so ready to love life like normal humans and be a family.

Has anyone gotten an approval for immigration visa? K-1 is a non-immigrant visa by the way.

My status date yesterday changed from June 10 to 22. It's really weird why the update is 5-6 days later. Waiting is getting tougher and tougher as the system has been fixed....

My immigrant visa status has been updated almost daily since my interview, but it still says "ready." I'm hoping the promise to be caught up by Tuesday, as per the Consular Affairs Facebook page, turns out to be true.

Seems as though a lot of us have had some updates as of late. I myself moved back to "Ready" on June 17th but have not had an update since. By chance can you link us to the FB post that talks about being caught up by Tuesday?

If this holds true, this means that anyone who was held up by the system downtime should be issued by the end of Tuesday/start of Wednesday; however, there may be some people out there who were not only held up by the system downtime but perhaps other factors in their application.

I'm crossing my fingers for you especially, Trenz! You've been in this long enough. I don't have the exact link, but look up US Department of State Consular Affairs on Facebook. The top post says all posts worldwide are working this weekend to clear the backlog, and one of the comments on the thread says they will be caught up before the July 1 holiday. I've learned not to believe everything I've been told, but it does give me hope for everyone out there who just want to be with their loved ones.

I'm shocked that no one from the June interviews has posted about asking the interview officer questions about delays...why aren't applicants doing that????

We are now beyond TEN WEEKS since a clean interview, where we were told to watch for Loomis in 7-10 days.

Since I last posted, we have had the following happen:

1) our member of congress was not provided any truly helpful or enlightening information. We were advised that we were in AP. The congressional office has informed us that our case with them is considered closed. I assume at some point they would go back to bat for us, but they have irons in a lot of other fires. Hopefully we won't need their services again on this issue.

2) almost simultaneously with the congressional involvement: our file did move on the CEAC website from Ready to Administrative Processing--after a full month with no touch. The file has been touched several times since then, so we are cautiously hopeful that whatever they needed to research or process has been completed, and that the visa will be issued along with all other approved applicants this week.

At this point, emotional stress from the delay is wreaking havoc on us both. Life-function processes are being negatively impacted by this delay, including missed job opportunities, missed important family occasions, and more. The consular officer who interviewed us in Montreal seemed so kind, interested, and humane; it's been really hard to stomach the follow-up treatment.

Good luck to us all this week...may the visa printing gods and Loomis be with us.

Absolutely disgusting what has happened with your case. You are without a doubt the longest waiting Canadian visa applicant in this thread at this point (would even say this entire forum).

1) That is extremely odd your congressional member said they considered your case closed. When I had involvement from my future senator, his office had said not to hesitate to contact them again within 60 days if nothing had happened. We did not receive a "closed" status. I have no idea why yours would do that!

2) I can also attest to the fact that our senator's involvement moved ours along too. While there hasn't been an update since June 17th, once contact was made I had two days in a row of updates to get back to the "Ready" position.

I am right there with you in saying the stress of all kinds has become too much. I find myself running the emotional gambit on a daily basis and cannot help but watch all of the missed opportunities pass me by. This is absolutely unfair that people such as yourself and I have seemingly been singled out for some unknown reason. The unknown is absolutely killer; would it really be that hard to give a bit more detail in what exactly the consular officer is doing with your file?

Suffice to say, this system downtime is either going to be a blessing in disguise for all of us or just another source of heartache if we do not see that "Issued" status soon.

And another day goes by with no change. Our file was last touched on June 23.

This Thursday will be ELEVEN WEEKS since our clean interview. Our file hasn't been touched in a week.

I can't even get a call back from our lawyer any more, and our congressperson told us "case closed." Truly feeling helpless.

I wish someone, somewhere would provide answers.

Thanks for letting me vent.

My file was updated again today to June 25th. Honestly I don't understand this status date update which are happening 4-5 days after. Honestly YVR, I am not sure if the status date update has meant anything. I had to submit a document after interview. Interview (May 27), under AP until June 4 and since then it has been at ready.

Have you tried emailing the embassy? In your email, I suggest you state that congress person told you that the case was closed and you need more clarification.

I have been venting here a lot and it is like the only thing that is keeping me sane. This is crazy and the most annoying part as it is the last step.
