Waiting for our passports from Montreal

I applied for an F1 student visa, and an F2 dependent visa (for my baby) at the Toronto consulate on the 11th. Us Toronto people dont have a thread so we've been using this one lol.

i received an email from loomis today; the baby's passport is ready. But no news of mine, no status update since interview day.

Im very very glad of the progress, but find that interesting, given since she's dependant on my visa, and only 8 months old, that they would treat our cases seperately.

Today my status went from Ready to AP, back to Ready. I hope this is a good sign that Montreal is back online. I interviewed June 17, Montreal consulate, IR1 visa.

my wife's status never changed to anything. stays on READY since before and after interview.

So I had my interview yesterday morning, and was approved (yay!)

so now even though I'm not expecting much yet, I constantly check CEAC just to see if my case is being worked on. And I did notice one thing different, normally I see my case creation is april 21st...but today it changed to June 26th.

Anybody know what that means?

As for the April 21st date you saw, that is very weird to say the least. Does this date correspond to any point of your overall timeline for significant events or documents being received? That is literally the only thing I could think of.

When it comes to the April 21st date, the only thing I kinda pieced together was when I called the NVC to receive my case number, I remember hearing something about the number being created the 20th or 21st. Could be wrong. I was more curious as of why it may have changed to today's date after being the same all this time.

Call me crazy, but working around databases for a good chunk of my life I would hazard a guess that the following may have happened: On April 21st you received your case number (MTL...) and from that point forward your application was listed under this case number. At this point you did not have any access to the "status" of your case as you do now with the CEAC website; I believe your "status" at that point was listed as "Case Creation Date: April 21" but was only viewable by those behind the scenes so to speak.

Post-interview there is usually a day delay in terms of the case creation date being updated to reflect your interview date. This is where I believe there may be a bit of delay between the back end databases and consulate input in terms of updating once the public is able to check their case status. In my case I did not have the ability to check my status the day of my interview, but I am willing to bet I would have seen something similar to what you witnessed today.

All visa-issuing embassies and consulates are now back online. We are scheduling visa interviews and issuing nonimmigrant and immigrant visas.

Just saw there was an update today. Tentatively, I will say that this appears to mean that Montreal is finally back up and running. Keep your fingers crossed out there.

Definitely probable. You weren't able to access the status of your case same day as your interview? Last night when I got back to my hotel room I took a look and saw they updated my case as of that day, which I expected.

Oh it wasn't that I wasn't able to in terms of not having access, I merely had a very tight timeline to make it to the airport and catch all of my flights! I had one heck of a day getting home right after my interview so my mind was just on another planet, haha. I had my interview at literally the first open time slot in the morning in Montreal so I was running on no sleep having to line up outside so early.

It is tough to stay strong. I myself am not the longest waiting person in this thread, actually. Another member has been waiting since April, I believe. My faith in this entire system wavered a long time ago as there seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to why some applications are done quickly while others take as long as mine. When you have had a flawless interview without the need for further documentation, you begin to wonder what the heck exactly is going on. Almost all of us here who have been waiting did not have any hiccups in the process, so we are left wondering what can even be done at this point.

You could very well end up being of the camp that has your application processed quickly, perhaps not. I wish I could give you a better explanation as to why you may or may not be, but I cannot. I have contacted Montreal and my fiancé had her senator involved but all of this has not seemed to get my application to "Issued". I have not received any explanation as to why.

For your sake, I do hope your application is processed quickly now that the system is back up and running. Let us know on this thread how things progress.

means they definitely worked on it.

Yesterday both the case creation date and status updated to June 26th, as well as the text on the bottom and the top says "Non-immigrant visa" instead of immigrant on my case.

Hope it means something good.
