I remember my interview day fondly. :) I got to meet Saylin. :D We went to Tim Hortons. I think I was there at 6:15 and another VJ member was there at 6am LOL

That was such an awesome day!! Got to meet you and Courtney (and her mom) :) After Timmies and saying goodbye to you guys, I went to the Olympic Stadium for some sightseeing, hehe ^_^

:wow: Not a long line at all. For mine, there was like 20+ people by the time the doors opened. Maybe people were waiting nearby inside, instead of waiting out in the cold?

And I don't know how you managed to eat anything the morning of. I felt so nauseous for my interview that I didn't eat anything at all until afterwards.

And hey, you never know. They could have mailed it out late last week and you don't even know it!

Nope, the door was closed at 7:40pm. Although it was tempting, it was too early for me to kick the door to open it.

Well, it was Monday morning so people were slow to come to work, I guess. :content:

I was so glad I had a big breakfast because I had to wait for 4 hours in the waiting room.

I got hungry after 3 hours of waiting. I bought a bag of chips and coffee in the waiting room. :D

I hope I get the visa tomorrow or Tuesday! Fingers crossed!

I was talking about showing up early for the interview..........and it can take awhile to get the successful visa pkg back..yes it may take 1 day to get it-----but it all depends how fast they mail it out. Can sit on a desk for awhile

I bet my file is still sitting on a desk at the consulate! :dead::dead::dead:

I'm not surprised considering I've been hitting a speed bump every step in the immigration process! :bonk::bonk::bonk:

Have you been checking your junk and spam folder too?

I had my interview on October 24th and received an email from Loomis at 9pm on the 27th.

Let's just say yours is delayed because of Veteran's Day and your email will appear today!

Hi everyone, another K1 Montreal filer here!

Had my interview on November 13th and was approved within 5 minutes! Now I am just waiting for my passport to be returned.. I have been checking excessively since the CO stated that I will have my passport back in 3-5 days.

I am driving back to Maryland and I'm hoping for a speedy return on my passport so I don't have to drive through all the snow.

Yes, I have been checking my junk/spam folder. Nothing! I don't even see a waybill number on usvisa-info.com.

Probably Remembrance Day/Veterans Day screwed me up! :dead:

That's why I tried to change my interview date, but I was unable to do so. :bonk:

I've sent at least four emails to the Montreal Consulate. Nothing so far. :dead:

I just called them up and talked to someone. She told me it could take up to a MONTH! :bonk:

I asked to talk to her supervisor, but she refused and hung up! :dead:

I HATE and HATE and HATE babysitting everyone (USCIS, NVC, and Consulate)! :ranting:

That's ridiculous! It can't possibly take that long.

I have my fingers crossed for you!

It's horribly frustrating to know more about bureaucratic processes than those actually processing it for you. The woman at the DMV was very confused by my visa and I had to explain it to her several times before she got her supervisor who then said exactly the same thing I had already said.

You're almost done! :)

I decided to call the emergency number listed on the Montreal Consulate web site this time.

They told me not to call the number since I'm not an American citizen!:no::no:

And I guess waiting for a passport is not an emergency issue to them (well, it is to me!).:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I really hope I get the visa tomorrow or Wed! :star: Fingers crossed!

Calling the emergency #, you probably got the on call Staff. which could be anyone in the Embassy.....and thats not their job to check into Visa stuff...meant for true emergencies......And yes only for USA citizens

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The Montreal Consulate replied to one of my 4-6 emails marked as "EXTREMELY URGENT!!!".

This is what they wrote (I'm copying and pasting below):

Good day,

Thank you for your email.

We can confirm that your issued visa has left our office yesterday. We are currently experiencing technical problems andunfortunately, we cannot provide you with a waybill number at this time.

If you have any questions regarding the courier service, you may visit The Department of State has temporarily disabled hyperlinks> or contact CSC by email at contactus_en_CA@usvisa-info.com

No WAYBILL NUMBER!!?? :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

I called Loomis and THEY DIDN"T FIND ANYTHING under the Reference ID on the usvisa-info.com site. :wow::wow::wow::wow:

I have no idea where my passport is! :ranting: I can't believe how they're handling this! :protest:

I guess they just could keep it. I have read others here on VJ that managed to track it down without the waybil number.....................

You could track it with your reference number on usvisa-info.com according to Loomis. :star:

I gave them my reference number, but Loomis didn't find it in the system.

They sure kept it for more than a week and delayed this!

But it sounds like they decided to send it without a waybill number (since they couldn't wait anymore)?

According to Loomis, it's still at the consulate since they don't have anything in the system - conflicting info! :protest:

I hope my passport shows up in the system or arrives at my Loomis location soon!

Montreal Consulate totally sucks! :ranting:

I just contacted Loomis and they stated that there is absolutely no way that they would pick up documents without waybills and that the embassy should never have stated the above in your email; The lady stated that we should contact them again and tell them this and to confirm where exactly are our passports.

So frustrating..
