Yes, that is what I was told as well. The individual from the DOS was incredibly helpful, despite the circumstance. He told me to hold as he tried to find more information for me. No dice. I also have a flight scheduled out of here for Sunday. I am betting that it also needs to be changed. I will hold out until Friday until I call and have that changed, but damn.

This works on your nerves and patience level.

So I called DOS this morning. She said it was printed and that I should hear from DHL soon. After reading VJers, I'm not sure if I can believe her or not? What do you think?

You will get the message from DHL before the Consulate. Hope it comes in timely fashion. I got the message from DHL about 7 p.m. All you can do is wait now.

I ended up faxing the supervisor at the consulate and begging for his help to push this forward faster.

I just talked to a lady from DOS. She said the visa was issued late last week but couldn't give the date. Yesterday, the man I talked to couldn't even give me an estimate date! It's hard to understand what they see on their screen...

Anyway, she confirmed that all that's left is for the consulate to send it my way. But it was issued last week, it means that it has been sitting on some desk for almost a week. :(

@velvetboxes : Pleqse let me know how this works for you.

I did that also and got the answer two days later. I emailed him after the 20th day of waiting.

I got an answer from them saying that due to circumstances beyond thier control BS, my passport would be sent out that night and it was. I was wrong on the 20 days, it was actually day 26. I had my interview and approved on June 29, received "lost" passport on July 26th.

When you say that you got the answer, you mean they replied to your email or they sent out your passport?

I actually emailed to IV Unit Supervisor at Montreal.IV.DV@state.gov. Put your casenumber in the subject line. I basically just wrote and told them exactly what was going on, that I had been accepted at the interview, told from DOS it was sent out but could get no where on tracking it down. You will get an auto response and its a long one describing that the IV Unit can do nothing with the cases etc but don't sent another email. Wait a few days for a reply.

I might try that as well, I am more than tired of waiting... :(

Could you give more information on the number to fax and the name of the supervisor - if you have it ?

What did you say so that they answered you?? Any magic words?

Thanks a lot!

ok thanks

I actually already sent an email to the email yesterday. The email address is montreal-iv-dv@state.gov and not montreal.iv.dv@state.gov but that's probably what you meant. My wife also sent ont late last week. And of course we never heard anything back from the consulate. :(

The DOS agent this morning couldnt see if the passport had been sent or not. I guess it hasnt been sent since i havent heard from DHL.

DHL has my visa and it has been sitting at their offices for three days now. No notice, no phone call, no change on my profile on CSC. Guys, head over to DHL yourselves! Check on it!

Hi guys,

Just an update. I got an email from the Montreal consulate telling me that my visa was issued today and will be sent out by DHL tomorrow. For the record, I was asked to send in the i864 for a joint sponsor after the interview which the consulate later processed. I sent my passport to them (at heir request) on the 26th of July and today I got the aforementioned email. Hang in there!

Are you kidding me???

That's terrible. The closes DHL office is like an hour away. argh!!!

Did you just go and asked if they had it?

I had my father go in and ask them because he works 10 minutes away from it in Ottawa. He confirmed it and I drove over. Yes, it was sitting there. No phone call, no notice, no nothing.

Oh my goodness, I can't tell you how great I feel reading this. Here's a link to my situation: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/322962-canadian-cr1-refusal-at-todays-interview-in-montreal-needs-additional-documentation/

But the long and the short of it I was required to submit my husbands 2010 tax documents after yesterdays interview. DHL is showing that it was received by the MTL consulate this morning. I'm hoping the review and approval will be as quick as yours. Any tips or any follow up from your end you care to share?

I might actually be able to sleep tonight! Thank you so much for posting this good news.
