Hello,

I'm actually a bit worried because after five months AP, I was told to send my passport and now after two weeks it's still in AP status. Please share your experience if you are in the same boat. I am not sure how long it takes usually.

Thanks

I'm in the same boat. My L-1 visa was in AP for 5 weeks until May 18 when I was noticed to submit my passport. It was sent off the same day and delivered the next day. It has been 2 weeks and yet they are still "preparing" it.

It seems to take anywhere from 3 to 5 business days before it gets from the remote mail location to the actual building, and then I suppose it has to get to the desk of the person with your file, and then they have to attend to it and send it off.

In my case, it was three weeks between my sending my stuff back to them and them changing my status to ISSUED. For some people it goes more quickly, and for some it takes longer, but 2-3 weeks is probably average for cases where you send them additional documentation and there are no complications.

Thanks, oncefuturealien. It's good to know. I found the best strategy is to leave it alone and enjoy my life, no matter how hard it is. That said, last time, it only took my wife 4 business days to receive her visa after sending her passport. That was for B1/B2. But, whatever. Hopefully it will get resolved in the next week.

So does anybody know the status process after the interview if everything went well?

1.ready

2.administrative process

3.issued?

Am i right?

Hi DizzyLixt~

You and I have the same interview date!

Yes, you are right about the process

Here is my status:

5/25(Interview): Ready Immigrant

5/31: Ready NONIMMIGRANT

6/2: AP

I think it will change to "Issued" after AP within few days but I also read one couple who waited 1-2 months after AP so you never know :(

Good luck!

Hi,

Five months after interview I was asked to send my passport in mid of May and still waiting. My medical exams expired by the end of month. Do you think that I have to send them an email? Couple of updates since sending documents but still shows AP. Feeling angry
