Wow you are super lucky :) I've been stuck i AP since my interview March 23 >.<

I was so afraid of a long AP, I made sure I had all the papers with me, even more than the ones required.

That helped I guess. The officer even thanked me for bringing everything.

We have been at a status of Administrative Processing because they needed more documents which they received on April 26th.

Today our status changed to READY.

Should we get our hopes up that they will request the passport (didn't send due to travel plans) so the Visa can get Issued?

Had my interview on Jan 8th, 2016. Interviewer said I needed two more documents as my birth certificate and passport has different names. Everything else was in order and they won't make this difficult as long as I can gather the documents. Last document was received on 01-Apr-2016.

Kindly note we received your document on April 1st, 2016 and it has been forwarded for review. We ask that applicants allow for 8 weeks of processing time from the day we receive the documents at post. As soon as we have an update on the status of the case we will gladly inform you.

Our CEAC status has been in administrative process since my interview, which was as expected with the missing documents. But now it will be 8 weeks since last document was received. Status showed case was touched on May 16th.

Getting very anxious! How much longer is this going to take?

Anyone else in same boat or had similar experience? What was your wait time?

I'm still in AP since Jan despite having all documents ready. It takes time. Just be patient.

Hello everyone,

Do you have any idea about crossing the border while driving Canadian plated car especially when you want to land as a new immigrant? I want to land with immigrant visa, stay two weeks, then come back to wind up my works. I appreciate if you know anything about the rules and protocols.

Thanks

If you are going to bring the car over you will need all the documents from the dealer or brand that there's not any pending recall. But not sure if this is necessary if you are taking the car back.

any ways, here is some info. Hope it might help

Thank your for your quick reply. I have my own car and I don't owe to the dealer. However, I'm not sure if I could drive my own car during crossing the border as new landed immigrant (without filling the application of importing car to US). I cannot find a similar question in the FAQs of above link.

Hi!!

I'm still waiting too! 1 Year already and nothing!

Did you repeat your medical exams after 6 months and now after one year?!

Medical and police report are expired but the consulate haven't request anything yet. My congressman sent an inquire and the response was " Still under AP, they need to wait. Nothing is needed at this time".

Now the CEAC status changed to: "EXPIRING SOON"! wanted to died when i saw that because I'been in contact with them every month asking for updates and they always answer the same. already emailed them, waiting for reply now.

Not sure about the car, I remembering seeing some post about it but can't remember what is need it.

I can remember a case similar to your case. He was interviewed after one year and was issued visa two or three months after. Don't worry. "It's slow but sure"

Even if you have no plans on importing the car you can drive it. You have up to a year to import a vehicle that is in compliance. But importing has to be done at the border when you do plan on it
