I was reading my packet and it states that you can't return to canada after arrival in the US, and it says it can take a year or more to get the permanent residency. Does this mean i can't do school in the states until i get the adjustment of status as well?

I'm not sure about the school part.

But as far as returning to Canada, when you submit the Adjustment of Status after you get married, make sure to include the Advanced parole and employment authorization paperwork too. Those are both free if you file with the AOS and will allow you to leave the country and work in the US while you are waiting for your permanent residency card.

So I had my interview in montreal on April 14, it was approved, my wife and I were so happy, they told me I will have my packet in the mail in less then 2 weeks. my wife then planned my boys 3rd birthday party thinking I will be able to be there with them. I have yet to see an email from them, when I check my case on ceac it still says for me to show up to my interview on april 14th. I emailed them about this and they said it is under review. but me ceac status still says the same thing about showing up for my interview april 14. I am very upset I am going to miss my twin boys bday party, they facetimed me at work today and asked when daddy is coming home. it broke my heart, I haven't seen my wife or boy in three weeks. anyone have an experience like this?

Hi Marcuss42:

I don't want to sound pessimistic and I really wish the review of your file will finish soon. But unfortunatelly it's totally unpredictable. My case is a little different but just to give you an idea of how things can be delayed, My husband's interview was in May / 2015! It's going to be a year soon and the only response we get from the consulate is that " It's under Administrative Processing and we need to wait. I've been traveling as often as i can but as of today I haven't seen my husband in 4 Months, (Actually only by facetime and Skype,) I'll be in Canada again next month. He is not allowed to enter US diuring the process becouse He is consider as "a possible immigrant". acording to the Border Patrol.
This review process it might take days ( Hopefully for you will be like this) in other cases will take weeks or months like in mine.
Good luck! and all the best for you and your family!

I feel your pain Marcuss42, I had my interview July 2015 and only received issued this month. My husband missed both kids birthdays and every holiday In between. Fortunately I've seen cases on here be processed in a matter of a few weeks and sometimes few months so my case was probably the exception to the rule. Sending you positive vibes hope you hear something soon!

I was wondering if anyone knows about things slowing down since Montreal took on all of Vancouvers cases.

I was unaware that Montreal took on Vancouvers cases. Is this maybe why I haven't received my visa/passport back yet? Interview was on April 14th and approved! They must be backlogged? Wish I could get someone to confirm this instead of a general email with an automated response of "we will gladly inform you when there is an update."

I could be wrong but Ready is good. Did it update to that two days ago?? Administrative processing is where mines been stuck. Ready is what I'm waiting for.

It has said ready (schedule and attend interview) since I had my interview. It updated when I sent an email asking what was going on but the status didn't change.
