I just emailed Montreal with an specific question and they answered in less than 10 min (Wow!! thats great!!) (I'm being very sarcastic) Because their reply was just the same automatic email they always send about administrative processing!!

uuugggggggg!!!!!! :ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting:

Frustration level: There's no instruments to measure it!!

Guys I'm so happy for everybody already out of this nightmare!...

Hi Idy Fdez,

Do you mind if I ask you what the automatic email response says that you get from the consulate??

Hi Idy Fdez,

Hi princessCanada!!

Maybe the term " automatic" is not correct because I can't say it's generated by a computer, but me and a group of people from this post used to call it like that because we were always given the same identical response. They answer but without any specific information, for example they say " If you need your passport, you may request it... " In my case, this is not applicable because we have the passport. so they just answer with a general format.

Here it's:

Good afternoon,

We reviewed our consular records and confirm that your visa application is still undergoing administrative processing.

We realize that these extended time periods cause frustration to many individuals, and we are sensitive to the fact that the purpose of the immigrant visa program is to facilitate legitimate travel to the U.S. Nonetheless, the Consulate in Montreal, like all U.S. Embassies and Consulates, must adjudicate visas in accordance with the provisions of the law, and, in some cases, this involves extensive administrative processing. While we cannot predict when the processing of your visa will be completed, please be assured that the Consulate and the State Department are aware of your concerns and will contact you as soon as the processing is complete.

Meanwhile, you are welcome to regularly visit https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/ if you wish to verify the status of your case online.

If you wish to have your passport returned for travel purposes, you may request it by completing the public inquiry form here. We will then return the passport using the courier services and request it back when the administrative processing is complete.

Thanks Idy Fdez! It is useful to know the types of messages people get in order to decipher what the messages mean! I haven't been told that I am in administrative processing yet but I feel it coming :-/. I am sorry you are experiencing such a long wait but I know you've brought a lot of consolation to users here and you're clearly a very kind person. So thank you again!

The message that I always get is :

"Kindly note, your case is pending consular review, as soon as we have an update on the status of the case we will gladly advise you."

Has anyone else gotten this message from Montreal???

Mine is close to that...I guess the only tell you as much as they can and they are incredibly polite which is nice since its so stressful. Mine said:

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your email!

Kindly note your I-134 was received on February 9th, 2016 and it has been forwarded for review. We ask that applicants allow for 8 weeks of processing time from the day we receive the documents at post.

Best regards,

So week 2 of 8 down...I as always hope for good news in the morning and hope it doesn't take 8 weeks...all those months of preparing and not having that because we believed that it was in the original packet sent (as advised by my immigration consultant so I didn't have a signed original at the interview). Wish I found VJ sooner.

Praying for you Princess and Idy.....it will be over soon. It WILL be all worth it.

Hugs.

Been in AP status since Jan 11. Our status updated date has changed when we sent email inquiries (2 times). Last one February 22, 2016.

Yesterday the Status Updated Date changed to February 25, 2016 without any inquiries from us.

Does this mean that someone is working on our file?

Hopefully our status will change to ready/issued in the next few days.

Good luck to all waiting.
