Thank you Friend2ya happy holidays to you too. They might pick their pace after the holidays but if you are in the same predicament then you will be issued 4 weeks from the day they received your additional documents at the consulate. It's always good to inquire but just be a little bit patient since it has not been 4 weeks. I did not think Monday they will be open since boxing day is consider a national holiday in Canada. But if they are then an extra day for them to work on your file. Btw did your status change to AP yet?

No change, still shows Refused - but was updated if you remember when you asked about the courier bar code last week, that was I sent and probably triggered the status to Dec 22. Yes, and perhaps we might see some people either getting new updates on Monday.

Since it does not look like they are conducting any interviews, then I'm sure they are working on the files. And if they are open this week for 4 days and you file is complete there is a possibility you will get issued. If not for sure the first week of January will happen. Hang in there you are almost at the finish line. And being ir1 is the best feeling since you don't have to deal with this headache for a long time till your citizenship.

Has anyone else with a CR1 been updated? I was hoping that because it is the US consulate that they would be open today and issue my visa, still no update :(

I am from Calgary, but listed the Kingston, Ontario DHL pick up thinking it would be issued a lot faster than this (I am living with my Grandparents because they were so close to Montreal). I won't have a place to stay past Jan 1st, so I really hope this is issued and mailed to me in time.

My interview was December 18th and I was the very first person in line for that day... it's such a bummer that there are so many holidays between my interview and Jan 1st!

10 days waiting now :(

I'm pretty sure they are closed today, sorry. :(http://canada.usembassy.gov/about-us/holidays.html The consulate is closed on both US and Canadian holidays... must be nice to work there! Because Boxing Day was on a Saturday, it's observed today.

This notice is also on the US Embassy website. It's a fair bet that if the Embassy is closed, the Consulates are as well. " The U.S. Embassy in Ottawa will close for the holiday beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 24th and re-open on Tuesday, December 29th at 8:30 a.m."

Haha high five!

Hope you had a great holiday! Hopefully a belated Christmas present is headed your way this week:)

Canada post was closed Friday due to Christmas, but opened today and the visa is in transit expected to hit Markham tomorrow. Not sure what time, but hopefully earlier in the day. My fiance is coming down with a u-haul for my stuff and we plan to head back to buffalo tomorrow evening if all goes well.

Lets hope there are no issues with CPC or my POE (I'm so nervous!). I will definitely let you know how it goes, as well as please keep me updated on your end! Hoping this is your last week of waiting!

Sending positive thoughts to you and everyone else!

Woohoo!! It was issued! :joy::thumbs::jest:

How long until I should get my tracking number? I am hoping that I get it by tomorrow, I am in Kingston so I am only a few hours away... BUT, a big snow storm hit so I hoping it doesn't delay the post office lol!

congratulations! that is great news!

my tracking number came within a few hours. First, the consulate sends you some information, with a non-working number, and then Canada Post (if you're going through CP) will send you a working one which you can track.

i have ready many people in your area have theirs the next day, so you should too, if not then definitely thursday.

mine is still in transit, but at least out of their sorting facility and on it's way to markham as of 5 this morning.

congrats again!!!

Just found this thread and wanted to weigh in :-). My husband had his interview in Montreal on December 17 for his CR1/IR1 visa. Apparently it was quick and painless (which was a relief!), and he was approved right on the spot. We registered for the courier before his interview, and paid the $22 to have it sent to our in-laws' place in Ontario where we've been staying. After the a few days went by, we checked the CEAC website and it said "issued" as of December 21, but no tracking info yet.

I knew everything would be a little delayed from the holidays, but as of today the status is still the same with no tracking number. The folks at the visa appointment services call center say they can only see the same info as us, and to keep checking CEAC status. We've been checking our email/junk folders, etc, and still nothing. Wondering if its normal to be stuck in "issued" limbo for this long without any tracking info? Getting a little worried :-/

I don't remember how long it took from issued to get my tracking number, but I did use Kingston as my pickup. I got my tracking number on dec 8 and got the ready to pick up email on dec 10.
