Five months since interview...no visa yet. Last time it was checked was December 10th. We had recieved a letter from our senators office a few days before saying our case was still in admin.

Priya if anything the senator should let you know what the hold up is. The consulate or Dos might not be able to tell it to you but for sure your congress person can, especially because it has been this long without any specific reason. And don't be afraid to email them constantly, also tell your partner to do the same. And ask to know why your status is in ap.

Hey guys,

Didn't realize this section existed on VJ. My wife's interview was on December 18 for CR-1. Right now our status is "Ready" on Immigrant Visa Application. The date has been updated twice, but that's it. Will keep updating this thread and checking for updates from everyone!

Mine was updated today, maybe because consulate received my irrelevant courier bar code papers..

Documents arrived late 1:30pm at offsite facility yesterday, checked ceac like around 2pm today nothing and by 4pm it was updated..

Is it possible they physically got my documents in 1 day?

I think it is unlikely it passed through security in just a couple hours, but you never know! everything is unpredictable. Hoping it was triggered by someone working on your case!

Mine is on immigrant ready. Does a CR1 change to non-immigrant in the system?

hi PriyaB

i just want to tell you something from my experience, before i get out of AP, my case was updated continuously and then froze on oct 26, 2015. that is when i contact my house representative in maryland and ask them to inquiry about my case for a 3rd time on november 6, while hoping the AP would go. then my visa issued on nov 9. i would say the congress man helped a lot. coz when i got my visa it says on oct 13, 2015 i got security clearance, then i asked myself way they kept it anyways???? i really don't know but my medical was about to expired and i crossed the border on the day my Med. expires. so i would say if you see a continuously update on your case, contact you congressman again and ask them to send them another email just to check.
