I couldn't sleep all night thinking about this return label I was supposed to include with my documents. I don't know if it required but I sent it at my expense without it, and wonder if consulate would generate a return label for my passport once it's ready...should I go to Canada post and ask them to create one ?

I think the consulate generates a return label once the passport is ready. So i wouldn't worry too much:)

I sent my stuff in five days before they switched from loomis to CPC, and i haven't been notified to send anything via canada post to generate a return label.

Thanks for the reply..no update :( not going to be home for Xmas..

I don't think i will be either... average wait time for k1 visa's after sending documents in November was 10-15 business days it seemed. I am now on day 17. No one seems to even touch my case. My status's have never changed, besides the date, and those were usually due to emails.

The best we can do is hope for good news over the next few business days. I know, it is hard to stay positive.

Can your fiance visit you during the holidays?

Thanks Jenn,

unfortunately no. Once my wife knew my waivers were approved, she changed her plan. While we were hoping I was able to go home for xmas. I guess not. Not even snowman would spend it with me this month.

I just went to Canada Post, the staff didnt give me anything. I guess he just put it in the system to acknowledge the consulate I have registered my retun service. I was like, what am I sending to the consulate; bar code,3rd page, and copy of email requesting my docs..I feel so embarrassed. I guess I will see my ceac triggers again and hopefully get the CO attention to work on my case.

We were so close yet so far anyone who submitted their documents after November the 18th we are stuck. I stumbled on someone post who got issued on December 22nd and were able to get their passport back on the 23rd but that was with Loomis. CP are slow so if we don't hear by today or Monday. Xmas will be spent in Canada:(

FYI, CO today in Mtl said they're not printing visas until Dec 29. No idea if that includes ones in progress or only new ones though.

Almost...he didn't like my husband's employment letter mentioning his salary in CAD, so asked for a joint sponsor or USD in a US bank account.

That was totally out of left field for me, that was the least of my worries since he's keeping his job and transferring back to US division. But I guess the letter wasn't explicit about that.

If I'd left my passport it wouldn't have delayed me if we could send the additional AOS right away, but I'm hinky enough about travelling without it to just wait.

I'm just deflated but that's what you get for being optimistic. Anyway that's the only thing and everything else is good. I was worried about domicile!

Hope you guys get good news soon :)

Sorry to hear about the hiccup, hopefully it will be a quick fix for you guys!

And thanks for the heads up about no visas printed until the 29th... I wonder if it's due a problem with their system or a planned break for the holidays?? At my interview on Wednesday he didn't say anything about that, just said my visa would be printed very soon, probably within a couple of days.

Today my case changed from 'Immigrant Ready' to 'Nonimmigrant Ready' so I was hoping that was a good sign I'd get 'Issued' very soon... We'll see! At least if I don't hear anything before the 29th I'll have no cause to worry...

Another day is gone and no change, the senator was told my file is with an adjudicating officer and this matter should be solved soon. I don't know if I should take that as a good sign or another bs they tell us so we can back off. And to know no visa can be printed until December 29th is just heartbreaking. I guess Happy Holidays to you all, maybe we will join our loved ones in the new years.

Another week done. Nothing has changed on my end, no touch since Dec 7.

I spoke to our lawyer this week, and he wasn't able to give me much insight except for that he thinks that the reason my case is taking so long is that its probably been sent to washington for "further background checks" since I "have ties to the middle east" aka my dad was born in Morocco. Although, he immigrated to Canada when he was twelve, and besides that we are Jewish, that is if their concern has to do with radicalization.

This all feels so unfair. I feel like I have one foot out the door, but meanwhile I am feeling super useless day in and day out. I sort of had everything wrapped up thinking I'd be living there by now.

Unsure how to proceed, thinking I will try to start working again once the holidays are over, since I honestly have no clue how long AP will last. That is the most frustrating part for all of us, we don't know if this limbo will last weeks, months or maybe even a year???

I'm trying my hardest to remain positive, but it's really hard because I don't know what the endpoint is.

Just had to vent a little, but I really hope that everyone else is able find positivity. I could definitely use some positive vibes right about now, this is really hard!

I know. It is really hard. Especially when you don't have any idea how much longer it will take and can't seem to get any straight answers as to what is taking so long. The best we can do is look forward with hope. Hang in there... almost done! Sending positive vibes!

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way. I honestly understand what is that like. And many of us here are going thru the same thing you are not alone. All we can do is pray and hope they issue our visa soon. No one knows why anyone is put on AP therefore don't stress to much about it, it could just be something minor. Since this days I'm at home and have nothing better to do I read many many posts from all over the world on VJ. And there are males and females applicant from the "unfriendly countries" being issued with no problem even after all those awful events happening. This is why I'm telling you not to read to much into what your background is and the reason you might be on AP. Hang in there we are all in this together:).
