December 21st will be five months waiting.

My husband is coming to visit on the 23rd for two weeks. Hopefully, we have good news before then but either way the holidays are here and I will try to enjoy the time with my family. :)

Long past emails now :) We involved his congressman and have received the same answer twice so far. "Still in AP".

There is literally nothing we can do but wait.

PriyaB, what is the hold up? why its taking so long....?

No idea.

They don't need anymore more paperwork and they said everything I sent in was fine. There is no issue with anything at all...its just in administration for whatever reason. I did the interview, I was approved in ten minutes and told it would be 2 1/2 - 3 weeks...then nothing. I have tried everything and honestly, even if we got a lawyer there isn't much more we can do. When my husband goes back to the US in January, we might see about speaking to someone face to face at his senator's office to see if we can push it further or at least try to get more details but as of right now...nada.

Believe me, the problem could be I maybe wrong..too many scams...they want to make sure is bonafide and as for K-1 soon would be longer wait. You should had booked an appointment 2 months ago to see why the hold up...If you get politicians involved, what consequences might happen..would it hurt your visa issuance? Because having a congressman, its only a matter of emergencies..

" We ask that applicants allow for 8 weeks of processing time from the day we receive the documents at post"

Does changing the courier selection on Dos website trigger the date to update on ceac. Just curious because I selected the nearest CPC to me yesterday night and today my date on ceac changed to today's date but still under AP.

I'm not sure. They assigned me to the closest CPC location when they made the switch so I didn't need to change anything.

It could have triggered the update, althought maybe not. Perhaps they are working on your case today! :joy:

When the switched happened they did automatically switched me to Markham CPC, but yesterday when I logged in it gave me the option to pick the closest to me and so I switched to the downtown one. But I hope they are working on my case. If they really are you will be next?.

Visa was issued yesterday and tracking number provided today. As soon as she gets her visa on hand, I'll go pick her up and bring her home.

My fiance picked up her Visa from Canada Post Dec 11. A day after it was issued. I went to pick her up and we spent about 90mins at the Derby, VT for POE. Everything went smoothly.

We are now in full swing for holiday decoration. :D

Yes that's when it was received, last Tuesday it did change BC I emailed them. But this time I don't know what triggered the change.

still no change for me over the last 2 days. Still in AP since December 7.

both my fiance and myself emailed the consulate AND we each filed a public inquiry form. We both got identical copy-and paste style responses saying that my case is still in AP and they will notify me as soon as anything changes etc etc. They also mentioned that if I wanted my passport returned to me to travel, that is fine and they would recall it when they are ready to issue. As a note, these emails didn't trigger a status update change on CEAC.

Feeling really out of sorts about everything, not sure what to do at this point. Its really frustrating that we can't actually communicate with a real person at the consulate.

I am speaking to our immigration lawyer tomorrow so maybe he will have some insight into what is going on.

In any case, still 3 business days left in the week so I suppose anything could happen.

Hope everyone else is holding up ok!

I know how you feel, I was thinking to request my passport back and just travel for the holidays. But my lawyer said since I'm an intended immigrant there might be a possibility they will not allow me to come in. Since we are almost at the finish line it's just better to be patient. Like you said there is 3 days left in this week. And also 3 into next week. I hope someone there would have a heart and give us all our Xmas gift before Xmas day?
