sure. You think it might reach me in brampton by tomorrow? I need to book tickets for Istanbul

Anything is possible with how unpredictable everything is with this process, but I'm not really sure... it depends on how Christmas is effecting Canadapost. But there definitely have been people who have been able to pick up the day after they get their e-mail so here's hoping!

Surprised to find that this waiting for the visa to be issued has been the most trying part of the whole process. Being in a situation you have little to no control over really sucks!

I know this is super catastrohpist to ask, but has anyone hears of any cases of people being refused at this point, even after they received a verbal approval at the interview?

(as a side note, I was not asked for further documents, my case is very straight forward and I was approved with ease at my interview)

And for those who are feeling like every say is a massive struggle, and are checking CEAC 5000x per day, today I decided to block the CEAC site from my browser until after 5pm, so that I will only check once today. So far, I'm feeling way better without checking every three seconds. Obviously, I'll feel way waaay better once my visa is issued.

Thanks for the help!

People have been refused or received RFE's after interview approval's, but I think those are from complicated cases from consulates with higher risks and don't happen frequently for Montreal. The biggest fear with Montreal always just seems to be the wait times and slow communication. I too found the CEAC status wait to be the worst part of this - even worse than the two months of just sitting around waiting for the interivew, and even worse than the 10 hour drive to Montreal.

My case was also very straightforward and I had an easy five minute interview with an approval, and I was still stressed. I had a whole stack of income and domicile proof that I forgot to hand in at the window before my interview, so I for sure thought I would be Refused or get an RFE.. but I didn't, I was Issued :) as long as you did everything right all you should have to get through is the waiting.

As sarah03 says, people could still get refused even thought everything was submitted.

In my case, I was ask to send my passport, new medical, new police, photos base on I-601 and I-212 approval. What are the chances I dont get a visa? I am clueless because my ceac status still shows Refused. I dont even know what to think other than how long I will be getting an "Issued"

My fiance had her interview on 11/30. The status goes from Administration Process to Ready then back to Administration Process for a couple days then Ready again yesterday but a few hours after that, it went back to Administration Process. What is going on?

Visa was issued yesterday and tracking number provided today. As soon as she gets her visa on hand, I'll go pick her up and bring her home.

Dec 3 - Received by Offsite Facility

Dec 7 - Consulate says hasn't received

Status Updated triggered on Dec 7,8,9

I know its frustrating waiting, without knowing if they physically had my documents. I had to sleep early so I can stop thinking and even when I wake up I still cant stop thinking it about it.

The 7th update was probably the email of them saying it hadn't been delivered, and the 8th or 9th could have been when they received it!! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my documents were delivered the 25th and as you can see, I am still waiting:( Really sucks! Our wedding cut off date is tomorrow, although now we think today might be it.

And I also highly doubt you won't be approved! So I wouldn't be too worried about that :) but because you sent quite a few documents in, it might take longer to process them all than it would just one. But I think you should be fine for the holidays... there is plenty of time left.

November 16 2015: Interview in Montreal

Result: Approved, but additional documents requested

November 25: Documents received by consulate

December 29: Visa's in hand!

December 29: POE at Peace Bridge

January 5: Married!!!! (L)

January 11: Applied for SSN

January 18: Sent out I-485 packet

January 19: Received SSN card

January 29: Received text notification that I-485 package has been received

February: Additional documents requested

May 25: Advance Parole granted (pointless, in my case)

June 3 2016: Green Cards received!!

Don't stress too much about it everything will be fine. You can always email them and inquire about the status of your visa.

Are you K1 or cr1ir1? Montreal is knowing to be notoriously slow. I'm ir1 and I submitted my documents and were received on November the 24th and Jennnmikes on the 25th we are both still on Ap. So just give it a little time and in God willing we will all be issued before the holidays.

Thanks! Just checked, and no change. Still in AP since December 7. Hard not to feel discouraged. I did just send them an email asking how much longer I should expect to wait, given that the two week time frame for receiving your passport back is nearing. Hopefully they will reply back to the email soon, but not holding my breath for that really.

Trying not to get too down about this, but it feels more difficult with each day that passes with zero change.

Hope everyone is able to keep their spirits up, and on the bright side, tomorrow is a new business day :)

I understand it is extremely hard and the waiting part is just awful. But hopefully they will reply to your email, and soon it will be issued. Hang in there.

No update for me all day,

I am going to email the consulate tonight, and see I get response early morning. I am going to ask if they have received my documents and what is the timeframe issuing IV - hoping to be with my family for Christmas.

Do you think I am exaggerating by expressing my desire ?

Let me know if they reply to your email because they seem to be ignoring me :( lol

I think they have definitely received your documents though, given that your status updated the 8th & 9th. It is odd they would look into your case two days in a row, without having the additional documents they asked for. There was a weekend between the time it hit their mailing facility, to the time it arrived at the actual consulate, right? So the monday (7th) they may not have had it just yet, but the tuesday and wednesday (8th and 9th) I am sure they got it! but if you're anything like me, i would still email lol. but rest assured tonight that they probably have it.

It really sucks, being so close to the holidays and not having answers. I had a tiny little breakdown tonight, just overwhelmed I guess. But I think it was much needed, as I have now finally accepted the fact that we will have to cancel the wedding tomorrow if there is still no update.. and that is ok. but christmas? I haven't accepted that yet lol.

This has been such a long process for all of us... I can't imagine those who have been stuck in AP for months... for me, each day is a feeling of hope that turns into disappointment and it has only been three weeks. Sarah03 is right... tomorrow is a new business day! Everyone try to think/stay positive! We will have those visa's soon:)

I don't know if my status was changed on Dec 9 because probably he/she thought or forget to read my email and triggered it.

We are all frustrated of course, I feel like my brain is split in half - One for CEAC and the other is living a day at a time.

I am sorry that your wedding didn't go as plan it..maybe is a new tomorrow. Who knows??

For people who are on AP - just hang in there, have patience like me(going crazy thinking about this every seconds) and if you feel confident that there is nothing that block them from issuing the visa, this could be more security check-up because of what happened in San Bernardino. Other than we could just wait and enjoy few more days or weeks in Canada(Sad No Snow)

no no, they definitely didn't forget to read your email! i sincerely think they received the documents on the 8th or the 9th. Mine hit the consulate a day after it arrived at the facility. I think the weekend just sort of messed things up a bit maybe for you or because there was more than one document, it took a bit longer. who knows. but i am sure they have them by now! everyone else's seemed to have made it within two to four days of mailing it out.

and yes... Canada is just not the same in December without snow:( lol
