I'm going to go out on a limb here and say no. A round trip ticket isn't required for a flight, so I don't see why it would be to take the bus.

Congrats on your move.

You're not returning to Canada, so no need to buy a return ticket.

This has actually caused a problem for some people who have purchased return plane tickets and did not cancel them after getting to the US. The airline would use the seat and not change the name, so there would be a record of that person leaving the county. When USCIS sees the record, they deny AOS.

No, you shouldn't need one. But depending on what drone you speak to, they may make life difficult for you. If that ends up being the case, try and talk to someone higher up the food chain. >.<

Congratulations!!

No you do not---go with whats the cheapest!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

One thing I'd be weary about taking the Grey Hound is the bus does not wait for you. The Cr-1 process can take over an hour. You could easily miss your bus. Be careful!

They are some what required to stick to a schedule. I have seen them leave people at the border who were taking too long. It typically takes about 30 minutes at the border to go through a full bus load of people. With everyone getting off and unloading the bus.

I've traveled by greyhound a couple times to Chicago from Toronto. they will call their boss /depot whoever, if customs takes too long to get approval to ditch you if it takes too long. I've actually witnessed this happening when an older couple had brought food etc to the border. Even though bus is very cheap i would never do a POE by bus. my k1 took me over 2 hours to process due to various issues and computer problems. No way a bus would have waited for me during that.

Is there any way for you to get to the border and poe then take the bus a few days later. I poed then turned around and moved the next day. Not sure how close you are to a poe though. I was visiting friends so I was like 20 mins from a poe but If I was at home (toronto) then it would have been different.
