Yeah, I'm glad I live in Montreal so I don't need to pay for a flight and hotel for the interview. Just a 40 minute drive and that's it.

I'm in for CR-1 on the 17th.

I read on one of the VJ Montreal pages that we should be in line at 7am, doors open at 7:30 and it's first come, first served for interviews. Has anyone heard about any of this first-hand? Is anyone else as P.O.'d as I am that the letter says 8 am and we may in fact just be playing a waiting game? grr...

Grats on the date!

Yes, doors open at 7:30am and it's a first come, first serve basis. I'm planning on being there at 6:30am myself. I want to be the first one in, so I can be the first one out! :D

Not yet ... my hubby is scheduled for soon. Aren't our interviews on hold because of the goverment shut down? I don't know if we should book a flight yet? BTW what kind of questins did the dr. ask about drugs? Or how did they phrase it?

Our interviews aren't on hold. There won't be a government shutdown, so you have nothing to worry about. Everyone just needs to relax about the possibility of a government shutdown. It was supposed to shut down at the beginning of March, but nothing happened. They're just gonna keep pushing back the deadline until they decide on the budget, or whatever they're fighting over.

I can't remember how the question on drugs was formed. I just checked off "no" for all the boxes as I don't have any diseases and I've not had any past drug use or suicidal thoughts or such. I've been a healthy, good girl my whole life laughing.gif

I had my medical yesterday in Toronto.

It was pretty easy, I was there for about an hour and a half.

I paid some lady and gave her my immunization info and passport. Got a chest xray next. Then they took blood (the worst part of course).

Went in for my medical part. The doctor was really nice. He looked in my throat, took my blood pressure, listened to my breathing and that was basically it.

He asked me a couple of questions, have I lead a pretty clean life, any drug problems or AA or anything like that. Any diseases or major surgeries.

That was basically it. I was super nervous for no reason at all.

Besides the bloodwork the worst part of the whole thing was paying for healthcare in canada, but I better get used to it moving to the states and all!!!

Thanks laughing.gif I've never been a fan of politics. Thank god knowledge of current politics isn't needed for a US visa.

Hi Saylin;

Do you have to fill up any form and take it to medical or do they give you any form at the Doctor's office to fill up, and if they do what kind of questions are there?

You fill up the form when you get there. Just basic stuff, name, date of birth, then they have a bunch of questions you answer yes or no, like whether you've ever been hospitalized, or had these listed diseases, or done drugs, or had suicidal thoughts, etc. It took me like 2 minutes to fill it out (although I was checking off no in most columns). Looking back, I wish I had taken a picture with my phone's camera to be able to show everyone else. Oh well laughing.gif

You got in with your phone? Don't they search you before you go in?
