Nope, AP in this case doesn't mean Advance Parole. AP at interviews means Administrative (or Additional) Processing. It means either the officer wants more evidence/documents from the beneficiary, or there was a red flag and they want more time to decide. AP usually happens frequently in African and Middle Eastern countries as there's a higher level of fraud there.

Ah ok. Thank you, Saylin! What would we do without you!!! :D

Why don't we add our country and the day when we started our visa journey? I mean when we sent our initial documents to Chicago lockbox?

Yeah, the range is pretty interesting. At least those of us (well, most of us) who were put through the TSC wringer finally have an end somewhere in sight.

Definitely interesting. It seems like most people originally sent their I-130 back in July and August, with a few outliers.

Weird your AVR hasn't updated yet. Although, at this point, I don't think you care so much as you've already got your interview date ;)

Haha, we're all grateful for it. Please don't ever get a job!

laughing.gif I'll tell that to my husband and see how he takes me just staying at home all day on VJ making no money :P

Perhaps I should start charging a penny per question :D

This thread has gone queit! I guess everyone is busy preparing for their May interviews

I called DOS today to see if our package had reached New Delhi, and the lady told me that it has not been shipped from NVC yet. What a shock!! So, I called NVC and the operator said that it was true. Our package has not yet left NVC (contradicting a statement made by another NVC operator last week saying that the pacakage was shipped on the 13th). This lady said they send mulitple packages together, and that it will reach before our interview date on May 24. And the AVR still only talks about the case close date. So, maybe the AVR is more accurate than these operators in this case!!!

Has this happened to anyone else?

Same happened to us. We have contacted the Embassy and ask if we can have a sooner interview and they told us that it is possible but need the pack to be at them. Called today NVC and the lady told me to tell the Embassy to ask our file from NVC to be there sooner. At this time we wait the answer from Embassy if they will ask our papers and if we can obtain an interview 2 weeks earlier. Good luck.

Congrats, Jenny! My husband is from Argentina and our interview is scheduled for the first week of May. We're scheduling out medical exam as well...hopefully we'll both have some good news in a couple of weeks!
