It has been 2 weeks now since my wife's Interview approval on 4 May, and still she has not received her Visa.

It has been 2 weeks now since my wife's Interview approval on 4 May, and still she has not received her Visa.

Is that normal for China?

My friends that had their interviews in March and April had to wait about 10 days to get their Visas/

Recently, a couple of people had to wait 20 and 21 days. I will call Dept of State tomorrow, see

if I can get any information........

Is that normal for China?

There is nothing "normal" at the Consulate in Guangzhou, China, other than they give everyone a difficult

time. I just call Dept of State. The lady said, "our case in under normal review", yeah right.

They usually say, 3 to 10 days processing. So after the 10 days, they just say , normal review.

It has been 2 weeks now since my wife's Interview approval on 4 May, and still she has not received her Visa.

My interview was the 12th May, and I'm also still waiting

The NVC helpfully lost my Birth and Marriage Certificate. Oh, and my Wifes I-864 and supporting documents.

The embassy helped arrange a pick up using their private courier the very next day, so they've had my passport for 5 working days.

I'm hoping to fly this Thursday. I've not booked a flight yet thankfully!

When I called the lady at the Dept of State, on Friday, I asked if any documents were needed, and she said, "no".

So hopefully there is nothing lost. I guess there is one more disadvantage of being old, and going through this process

for along time, is there are more years of documents, and records, to go through.

They did not say whether she passed or not.

They did keep her passport, gave her a pink slip, and said come back Wednesday 2pm to pick up you passport. I am not exactly sure what that means exactly.

Will stay optimistic and hope that is a good thing and she will have her visa soon.

They did not look at the pictures and other evidence she had prepared. From what she told me she answered all the questions well.

Will keep you guys posted.

Well, if they kept her passport, it sounds like a good sign to me. I guess you'll just have to wait till Wednesday to find out for sure. Keeping my fingers crossed that the visa will be in the passport.

Sounds positive. I believe pink usually means an approval. Let us know what happens when she picks up her passport. I'm guessing there will be visa included.
