On the interview letter I think it says financial information. I didn't do my 2010 taxes, when they asked for "updated financial information" my husband gave them my W2 from 2010 and they didn't ask about the taxes at all! (but we also have a co-sponsor whose 2010 taxes we did turn in)

Yeah, it does say financial information on my interview letter, but that's marked with a Y for "The required document has been received." But they did ask for "updated financial information" at the interview? Good thing I gave my husband my 2010 taxes and W-2. I think I did find the answer to my question though on the State Dept. website under "What must I bring to the interview?":

"Updated original copies of civil documents and/or financial evidence such as tax returns which may have changed or been superseded since you originally submitted them to the NVC for review."

Thanks, Sarah!

Hey Saylin, is it definitely required to bring your 2010 tax returns if your interview is after tax day, or is that mostly a precaution just in case they ask for it or if they're not totally convinced by the financial information you have already submitted? I haven't been able to find anything definitive in any instructions given by the Dept. of State or the embassy.

I gave my husband a copy of my 2010 taxes anyway, but I would think that if it's required, they would include it in your interview letter as one of the documents you need to bring. I was just wondering if that rule is stated anywhere. Thanks!

I'm not sure if it's a rule or not, but I always see in reviews that officers ask for 2010 tax info if you hadn't submitted it at NVC, like myself. Although the officer never asked me for it, I just offered the 2010 tax transcript when they asked for my AOS package, so I don't know if the girl would have asked me or not.

But I always suggest it, just in case.

Had some trouble early on with the lady who was assessing my aos papers, after I explaineds that my wife did not need to file for 2009 because she didnt warn enough / was a student. I handed over the 2010 tax return and she seemed happier. She also called my number 6 times in the space of a 10 seconds and blamed me for not coming quick enough!

The interview was easier, It was 3 questions

When did i get married

how

When do you want to go over there by.

That was it, paid courier (£36!!) and left. Went in at 7.30 out at 9.10.

They did not ask for any information at all. So now I have to wait for my passport back!

Yeah, that definitely makes sense. I am guessing they asked you for the AOS package at the interview because you did electronic filing and they don't have hard copies, right?

Awesome, congrats! Why was the courier service so expensive? I thought it was supposed to be around £14.50 or so! Did they tell you how long it would be before you got your passport back?
