Awesome news!

Can I ask, what proof of income did you take with you and also, have you written a review yet?

When are you planning on getting out there?

Start of relationship

??/07/2008 - A random Skype message came through to me from an American girl

14/02/2009 - After months of talking, the American girl flew over to me - I knew we were meant to be

18/08/2009 - I proposed to her on Brighton Beach, UK

K1 Journey

15/07/2010 - We finally put in the i129f application - after shortly considering me going there on VWP, marrying and trying to Adjust Status, but was too risky

03/01/2011 - NOA2 on the day Dawn returned to NY after spending Christmas with me

10/02/2011 - I visited NY for 3 weeks (let this hold up the K1 process)

28/02/2011 - Medical

29/03/2011 - K1 Interview at London Embassy - Visa granted!

01/04/2011 - Visa in hand

Next Stage

03/05/2011 - POE in JFK - can't wait!

04/06/2011 - Our Wedding Day :)

Congrats!

Rumor is always about a week to get the visa. DO NOT SCHEDULE FLIGHTS based on this information. Take it from experience. We were guaranteed that same amount of time and it didn't happen.

Hi Rob and Jill,

I was wondering how long you had to wait to receive your visa?

We are waiting to receive our visa, (hopefully this week) then we will look into booking our flights.

Congrats!

Hi Rob and Jill,

I was wondering how long you had to wait to receive your visa?

We are waiting to receive our visa, (hopefully this week) then we will look into booking our flights.

It took a little over two weeks from the time the courier picked it up and dropped it back off. Rob had to replace his, but once the embassy had it in their little hands, it took over 2 weeks. We were ASSURED by the courier AND the embassy we would have it back in 4-5 days. Needless to say, I had to make a few phone calls on my end to get it settled. Just wait until it's in your hand...we lost a chunk of change of impatience.

That's certainly true. Our interview was Thursday 24th and they said the usual 4/5 business days, next thing my SO knows - there's a card dropped off Monday morning, no warning text or anything.
