Does the first name or the last name matter?

I"ve read a lot of threads here about the security checks...they're called AR right?

Anyhoo.....I have read that the name matters. Is this the first name that matters or the last name?

If it's the first then we're screwed royally since my so's name is Osama.

I havent gone through AR yet, but from what I have seen both sides of the name will be subject to search (but someone please correct me if I am wrong). In any event, I hope things move speedily for you

It's the match of the whole name to some crazy database they have. My son (who is 20) has a name match and can not get on an airplane without a special call to homeland security every thime he flys. It takes an extra 20 minutes or so for check in

So your SO might hit a match but then they verify its not the same. don;t worry too much about it. With time you get through any AR.
