Expedite thru Embassy??

We received expedite approval thru USCIS and have our NOA2 coming in the mail any day...I know what to do to try to gain expedite approval at NVC level but reading thru all the forums I was unable to find exactly waht I was looking for at the embassy stage...

Can anybody tell me the process to try to expedite at embassy level as well please? Anything would be appreciated!!

Yes, I had the same situation. You will need to give the Package time to get to your embassy. You need to go to Visa journey.com website for your country and see how they arrange an interview for you.

In my case, because it was expedited, we had to arrange for the interview date by contacting the embassy and setting up a interview just like what is required for a K1 visa.

Typically, the NVC will setup the interview date before the packet leaves the NVC but because you expedited the case, the embassy and you will need to setup your interview date.

Be sure to contact your embassy and find out how to setup the interview date. Be proactive. Don't wait for them because you could easily lose a month or more.

yeah of cos i will and Sarah too!! Not sure if expediting thru NVC is worth the effort it seems it goes pretty fast...as long as USCIS sends NVC the casefile quickly and doesnt delay the effort of the expedite at that point... we will see... they say within a few days i should check...time will tell...or should i call uscis and request they send it to nvc asap since it was expedited? any ideas?

I don't know if it's the same for your country as it is for England, but when you request an expedite with NVC, they actually forward the request to the Embassy who makes the decision whether to approve the expedite. If approved, NVC will stop all processing/review of your case files and immediately send it off to the Embassy.

In our case, we had requested the expedite with our initial package sent to NVC - no response. Got an RFE (boo). Sent RFE response and another expedite request, this time through email. Got an email a few days later stating they'd received our expedite request. No further contact for a week. Called NVC again, they said expedite was not logged. Re-emailed expedite request and called congressman. Result - expedite approved and package shipped to Embassy within a week. I'd recommend requesting the expedite just in case (and based on our experience you HAVE to do the email request - see one of the guides), but if NVC is quick and reviews your package before the expedite is logged with the Embassy, your paperwork will be sent there anyways!

should I contact USCIS today and ask them to send our casefile over to NVC ASAP since we were expedited? I worry bcos I do see so many other ppl whose cases dont get logged into the system within 3-5 days and ends up being a month or more...and thats the whole reason we expedite...his area is getting more dangerous by the day...

I dont know what these people are talking about. I called the other day they said case is there, but not entered into the system yet and to try back on friday, I just called back and they said case is there, still not entered into the system, but it can take up to 6 weeks to be entered... what?!!

that is a standard answer, it does not take that long...I got that answer as well, and it only took 4 days. It is basically to save their butts if it does take that long...common government procedure. Do not freak out, trust me, it will not take that long.

omg thank you for letting us know this...our husbands are both in the same area both facing the same issues which is why we were able to expedite...didnt want to get stuck in the black hole at nvc but it sounded bad at first...thanks for calming the fear...

Ameena if you pay the bills online, it should not take longer than about a week or so for your case to be completed at NVC. The Embassy in Islamabad is pretty quick at issuing interview dates. When our case was expedited through USCIS, we had also approached NVC to expedite it but they refused it and said if we file the documents correctly and as soon as we can, NVC will complete the file and send it through. My case was sent to the embassy around August and I had my interview date for the first week of October. All the best to you and again, really happy things are moving along for your case.
