Hello everybody!

I am about to receive my EAD. I was denied the SSN with my K1 visa and I-94 until I have EAD or GC.

So now that I am going to have the EAD and of course go to the SSN I was wondering if they will be faster giving me the card (I had to wait 2 months and a half for their reply last time).

Somebody knows how long is it going to take? And as well, can I go to the social security office as soon as I receive the EAD or do I need to wait around 2 weeks to be in their system?

My daughter's K-2 EAD was approved on February 11th and on March 9th, I went to the SSA office. They checked her status had been updated on SAVE (it had) and her SSN came 8 days later. I'd say give it 2 weeks for them to update you on the system, and then apply.

Timeline Summary:

K-1/K-2 NOA1 - POE: 9 February - 9 July 2010

Married: 17 July 2010

AOS mailed - Interview : 22 November 2010 - 10 March 2011

ROC mailed - approved: 14 February - 18 June 2013

Citizenship mailed - ceremony: 9 February - 7 June 2017
