I was thinking about showing up one day ahead of the interview but you are right, to give myself a couple days would be better as long as they don't putz around too long afterwards to issue the visa and we can be on our way. Booking the ticket for his return with me would be risky but also show I am serious as a heart attack.

Do not book his ticket. He may go into AP, and it takes more than a week to get passport back even if there is immediate approval.

If you can come a few days ahead and meet his family (did you, already?) - take some pictures with family and have them write a letter stating that they approve of your relationship. That might help.

It sounds like he is poor (WU money transfers)? that is not good. I hope he has a job at least so that it does not look like he is desperate to get out of Cyprus 'cause he got no prospects there?

He is a student from another country, studying in Cyprus, family is in his home country. I speak to them on the phone regularly. Letter from mother is currently in progress. Nothing wrong with a monetary Christmas and Birthday gift per WU in my opinion. He gave me gifts as well. Packages take forever and tax due on the items and high postage wasn't worth it, been there, done that. Thank you.

"Usually" didn't apply to a whole passel of us in Ecuador -- we USCs WERE the criminals. There was no doubt about that. Also, when there's a Stokes, it would seem that both parties are suspected.

Boiler, I asked for specific information on what tangible items to submit for the next interview except myself being present.

CO requested more proof to submit to 'convince her'.

I have received sound advice and conirmation of my own ideas for which I am thankful.

You're lucky at least they want you to submit more proof, in some countries such as Dominican Republic/Haiti. A single trip is an automatic denial.
