I have a few questions about my wife's Visa. I paid the $88 AOS fee, and now it says "Paid". So does the NVC sent my wife paper works now (with in 90 days)? I'm filling out form I-864, and it says to send it to NVC when I'm done along with the cover sheet when I paid the $88. Do I sent the I-864 with the cover sheet by it self or do I need to wait till my wife gets her papers from NVC, and send them together? I've got transcripts of last 3 years of tax, should I send it with the I-864? What else should I send with it? Is there a way to see if NVC send the papers to my wife?

I'm also thinking of contacting my congressman (MD) to make the process smoother, is that a good idea. Anyone did it?

Thank you very much,

Tony

The AOS and DS-230 are two different animals. The AOS is your "promise" that you are willing and able to support your wife. The DS-230 is her application for an immigrant visa. You can send the AOS as soon as it is marked paid. You must send supporting tax transcripts with the AOS. Check out the NVC shortcuts here on VJ, and be pro-active with your paperwork. Do NOT wait for NVC to send you anything!! Did you already send your DS-3032?

What's the point of DS-3032? I only need that if I'm using a lawyer right?

So is my wife considered a "relative" for the 3 questions? Kinda confused.

actually the ds-3032 is a statement from the beneficiary (your wife) appointing someelse to handle her case in her stead. that someone else can be anyone, including obviosly a lawyer. So since you will be handling her case, she has to fill that form appointing you as her agent, which is all just fine. but it still needs to be done by her. you can do this electronically by following the Ling Che template instructions http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut#6._Send_DS-3032_to_continue_processing. good luck!

Thank you very much,

at this stage, contacting your congressman will do you absolutely no good. there is no problem yet and so they are not going to help you. hopefully there will be no problem at all and so you wont even need their help! best of luck!
