I am new here so please forgive me if this question has been asked. I would like to know how I can find out when the NVC has received my case, when my case left NVC, and when the Consulate received it. By calling them with the receipt number?

Thanks!

Exactly by calling them and providing the USCIS generated case number. When the case gets to the Consulate... you can call them.. or email them to ask if the case is there. There is a way to TRACK the case when it is sent from the NVC to the consulate.

I've found the Department of State (DoS) most helpful in tracking my case after the USCIS is done with it. You do need your new case number before you can call them though!

Suggest using Telephone -

see

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Dodi's posted the numbers and how to call, and further down (scroll down la), I've posted who to call and what you can get, and when.

Suggest you review the P3 shortcut also at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/GUZ_P3_Shortcut as it shaves off about 3 weeks of dead time.

Do not call the Consulate - they are useless, and unable to reach via telephone - with an email lag of about 6 weeks.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
