Natives here in Alaska get everything handed to them on a silver platter. Jobs, schooling, free medical, $1,500 of free fuel oil, free HUD housing, etc... the list goes on and on. What it's created is a generation of lazy natives with a hard on for white people.

^^^^ sounds like anyone under 25 to me ^^^^^^

We would have to take it back from the Mexicans first.

they can have it.. I'll throw in Illinois to :help:

look at all the major city's and states what do they have in common ???

Democratic and broke

That oil comes from what was Native land. The "Hand outs" that you accuse the Natives of getting comes from land that was taken from them, first by the Russians, then by the Americans. They wouldn't need hand outs if that wasn't the case.

Nobodies against righting past wrongs  but when does it end ??? stossel report also mentioned the lumba tribe in NC :wow: .. they get no had outs and have done well, while many other tribes still wallow in self pity. :crying: the worse words you can hear is I'm from the government and I'm hear to help you

"Comes from native land" eh ? Not hardly. That oil comes from derricks out in the ocean and from the Alaska North Slope. No natives living in either place. Does ASRC claim that land ? You betcha. Is ASRC a native corporation...you betcha. Does ASRC receive millions of dollars every year from that oil being pumped out on the Alaska North Slope? You betcha.

Do some fact finding before making post like that. It always helps to have some basic knowledge on a subject before posting about it.

And fyi, no natives did not pump oil out of the ground before the white man arrived, nor did they ride snow mobiles, hunt with semi automatic rifles, four wheelers, and skiffs with japanese outboard motors.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

btw all Native Americans whether they be from NC, or California are eligible for free government assistance...medical, dental, housing, etc...

You make it sound as if all Native Indian has to do is show up at the hospital, dentist or some housing agency and show his tribal card. It does not work that way.

They could be eligible for help with that, but only if they remained in or near their tribe.

Really it doesn't work that way ? Maybe where your from it doesn't, but my Belarusian wife works for a the native hospital here as a DA-1, and yes all they have to do is show up with their BIA card and they get free medical assistance. It's the same for the Indians in Washington and Oregon. So seeing how it's a Federal thing...what makes it different for the Native Americans living in your neighborhood ?

So your saying that the BIA isn't Federal and there is no such thing as a BIA card/number ? Maybe it's all a government hoax ?

So let me get this straight, a tribal member from say Florida, could show up at that native hospital in Alaska and get free help? This is not what I was told by my source... a native Indian who paid for medical insurance and rented apartments like every white person would. He said he could get help, but he'd have to go back to his state. Meaning travel across the US, if not across the world...

Not at all but Native health care is a long way from as easy to access as you stated and nothing at all like you described. It is also an obligation often agreed to via treaty or other government to government compacts in exchange for any number of things such as land or resources.

Your opinions seem to be pretty naive, superficial, and based heavily on personal bias.

I'm going on the natives here in Alaska. They receive free medical and dental anywhere in the state of Alaska from any native hospital and/or medical center. The Indians in Washington and Oregon have native hospitals there where they receive free medical. Now I don't know if a native from Florida receives the same service if they are residing in said states. That part I do not know.

Okay, we are getting closer to reality :)

Medical care is available to a Native Indian IF he remains living within reasonable distance of his tribe. That is a clear handout in exchange for lack of mobility, yes? If you remained in that tiny European land of yours, you'd qualify for free medical care too. I bet your EU passport also would qualify you to live anywhere in EU and you'd enjoy far better quality of health care than Indians do. See, you are not so different

this isn't just about Native Americans.. look at all the social engineering that has gone on since the 60s.in my opinion it's a total failure.. far to many in this country now believe the government owes them something. cradle to grave entitlement sad truly sad...

I said it comes from Native land. This post just proves my point. Read what you write so you can catch your contradictions.

Ah, not true. Only members of federally recognized tribes have that benefit. State recognized tribes may or may not. Btw, the care isn't all that. There have been decades of scandal involving the Indian Health Service, in particular.
