"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Last week a lady hit my car in the supermarket parking lot. I wanted to exchange insurance information with her, but she refused. I said, "you did the damage to my car, don't you think you should be responsible for making it right?" She replied, "certainly not. If I hadn't hit your car, somebody else eventually would have. So you're just trying to hold me responsible for doing something that would have happened anyway."

Okay, that didn't really happen. But it's a good story, no? ;)

And your point is.....?

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

And no group has been as severely injured by Federal, State or US Territory governments either. And a good deal of Federal 'aid' is treaty obligated and the price paid for the 99% or so of US land and resources appropriated thereby.

I used to live in Alaska, and have a cousin there who's married to a SeaAlaska member. Why_Ne, as usual, is exaggerating, as well as leaving a lot out about life up there. I'll bet he probably refuses his share of the Permanent Fund each year, too.

Not.

Agreed the natives in North and South America got totally hosed big time. But when do we stop paying ? Do you have any idea how much the natives here in Alaska get from the Feds ? It totals out to the billions every year. They pay for almost nothing...everything is given to them.

They can get a job at a Federally funded native corporation and keep their job just by staying alive. It takes an act of god to fire them. And when it comes to lay offs...they are still there whether they show up for work on time or not. It's so bad in the villages here that they will literally let their village flood over with human waste until the white guy who's working for the native corporation fly's out there and fixes it...even though it's something they can do themselves and within minutes. Lazy doesn't even begin to describe it. It's not like that with all of them, but it's like that with the majority of them.

Free houses...ya they get free HUD houses...brand new ones for ZERO $$$ when were up here busting our balls to make ends meet.

I for one don't begrudge anything the government gives to the native Americans. This was their land before we got here. The family farm I grew up on was land granted by the government 180 years ago. I found out a while back that the natives living there were forced off so the whites in the area could farm it. While I didn't do it I do feel a sense of guilt that I was able to enjoy the fruits of that land while the people it was taken from were pushed off into land the whites didn't want.

You mean, like those of us who weren't alive for the creation of Israel, but are still paying for that because of White Guilt?

I've been a consultant to ASRC for close to a decade and an honorary member of SeaAlaska since the 80's. If you hate Natives so much, maybe you shouldn't take their "federal" money.

I don't think "white guilt" pertains to your example. Are Jews not white?

What "white guilt" should I have concerning Jews?

What about the the billions of dollars paid to Egypt?

Lots of questions but no answers.

Seriously why do you bother posting ? To waste bandwidth ? You never lived up here in Alaska or you would have a clue on the Native Claims Act of '72. I work in the oil and construction fields. Native company's get a free ride on those bids.

btw the free ride for the native corporations in regards to getting all the no bid federal contracts comes to an end next year. :)
