I guess Gary and Co think the car has been paid off and it is time for a dealer to stop taking payments.

You wish to keep what the tribes gave away in the treaties but no longer make the payments for them per the legal terms of the contract because we have had possession long enough. Same thing as figuring at some point prior to paying off your car or homeloan you're tired of making the payments, you've had the car or home long enough, it's yours now. At least that is what I figure you mean Gary.

CR-1 Timeline

March'07 NOA1 date, case transferred to CSC

June'07 NOA2 per USCIS website!

July'09 Check cashed.

Jan'10 10 year GC received.

No.

The Indians never owned anything to sell. They had no concept of land ownership. The amounts "paid" to them were to get them to do what we wanted them to do. Any imagination that it was for anything else is silly. We have what we paid for, time to stop paying for it. Besides, "paying for it" is detrimental to the Indians. It makes them dependent on payments. Time for Indians to be free and independent.

If you disagree, simply tell me who the Indians bought the title to the land from. They cannot sell something if they do not own it to begin with.

If I sell someone the Brooklyn Bridge for payments of $10 per month forever, are they obligated to pay?

I am sure you and Rika will feel better if you just pack your belongings, notify the local Indian tribe they can have your property and go back where your ancestors came from. Unless you do that, you are just blowing smoke.

Not that I really care. You imagine anything will change?

The Indians can adjust to life in 21st Century North America or remain dependent on handouts.

We should give them full sovereignty, cut them off from all U.S. assistance and then reinvade and this time finish the pillaging right and proper.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

So you are not familiar with the legal concept of aboriginal title?

Gary is full of opinions, none of which are dependent on even the remotest understanding of this topic. Once again I must say that US history is full of such persons.

They are not aboriginal. What difference would it make if I am familair with an irrelevent concept?

Another non-response. North American Indians are not aboriginal so have no claim to "aboriginal title".

We should give them full sovereignty, cut them off from all U.S. assistance and then reinvade and this time finish the pillaging right and proper.

Cute.

In fact we should GIVE the sovereignty BY cutting them off from all funds. Only then will they be free and independent and can go live wherever and however they want just like everyone else.

I guess it doesn't matter if you are familiar with the concept or not. Whether they are aboriginal for the sake of argument doesn't matter either. The courts have ruled that they are. They have also ruled that nothing can be done to alter, impair or invalidate any existing legally ratified treaty.

I wonder how long Hitler would have needed to occupy Poland and France before they would have conceded it was rightly a part of an expanded Germany?

Yes Gary and why-me in the past people did some amazingly horrible things, heck they still do, but simply abrogating treaties is not something done lightly. Some day you may want someone else to trust you...

Good news for the Indians. I guess they can look forward to another few hundred years of prosperity thanks to the white man's courts.

why would anyone be against them being free and independent?

It seems many are basing their opinion (of treaty rights) on what seems fair or not fair rather that the law that supports it.
