Read this about medical exam today...

"As the medical exam results are normally valid for 12 months, you should complete your examination as soon as possible. You do not need to have received your appointment letter in order to attend your medical examination. An immigrant visa will NOT be issued until a U.S. consular officer has reviewed the results of the medical examination for each applicant."

If the medical is valid for 12 months, do we even have to wait for the NOA2 to complete the medical??

I don't have noa2 in my hand yet but I called and emailed the clinics performning the medicals, asking them if I needed NOA2 which I didn't. They set up an appointment and added that the visa might not have a validity of whole 6 months if the medical is done too long before the interview.

I'd say go ahead and call and/or wait for some fellow Germans to give their advice. Here's a list of German physisians: http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/iv/step6/

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

We needed our new case number in order to book the medical.. case number is given on the NOA2. (I called the DOS and received our case number of the phone...)

01/23/23... interview scheduled for 02/28
