NOA2 finally arrives

We finally received out NOA2 today after a 5 and a half month wait. I had been in contact with one of my congressmen since the start of the whole process. He seemed to have little effect on the process. Yesterday I wrote to 2 state senators and a congressman and then Abra Cadabra I received the NOA2 the next day. Coincidence ? I don`t know. I encourage those who have filed the K-1 to contact their congressmen and senators especially if over the 5 month normal processing time.

A couple of questions. What is a rough estimate of when the NVC will recieve my file? Also a rough estimate of how many days from today will it take until the interview?

I, too, have contacted both my congressmen and senators. Received an approval email a few hours later. It may have been coincidence, but I like to believe it was due to congressional assistance. Great advice you gave!

In my case, it took about a week from NOA-2 to NVC. I suggest calling NVC daily to receive your NVC number. It usually takes about 2-3 months from NVC acceptance to case completion. Some may get their case completed faster, though. Once NVC completes your case, they mail it to USEM. That takes a few days. Once USEM receives your case, give them about 1 week to enter your case in their system. Then you'll be able to schedule your interview.

I did it all by email. Some will require you to fill out a privacy form that allows them to act on your behalf. They may accept it via email or postal mail.

What are the e-mails VJers are writing to their state senators and congressman? If anyone has a template, please message it to me. I’m past the 5 month mark.

Usually they have a privacy form you have to fill out on their website under their contact tab.

After you submit it you can call and ask to speak to their person that works on immigration stuff. I just explained my situation over the phone and they tried to call the VSC. I talked to a Senators office and a congressmans office. However, the VSC told both of them they cant help until I had reached 6 months. At 6 months I was able to put in the service request without their help anyway.
