i have had a wife and daughter she is 6 now. i have more than 1,000 right now lets not forget atm i live with my mother so 100% of my income is saved. there is a whole naion of people with children and wives/husband that arenot rich. You see them daily went you get your gas, your trip to walmart, the store the resturane, the grocery store, thelst goes on and on they all have familys. the riches in life are not found in money. Jesus has blessed me.

Do you have a wife or a fiancee? It makes all the difference in the world with regard to sponsorship. If it's a fiancee, you must qualify on your own, regardless of the considerations you mention above.

she is a fiancee but i can easily go and marry her

Spouse visa financial requirements allow you to combine income with a sponsor but your mother appears to have no income. Who would be a joint sponsor with you in a spouse visa process?

If it weren't Manila, a lot of what you write above would be meaningful. Unfortunately for the OP, it IS Manila, and although they sometimes will accept a well qualified close relative as a co-sponsor, it's almost always for young adults just about to or who have just graduated from college and have great prospects. I've NEVER seen them accept a cosponsor in a K1 visa case where the need is as a result of nothing more than underemployment or low income.

I misunderstood the differing requirements there for fiancee vs spouse, my mistake.

What I meant to get across is that the bar is set high for the Philippines. Good luck to you with whatever option you take!

I am a usa citizen by birth. My dads family lives in the Philippines. I visited 2009 till ealry 2010. I live with my mother in Kentucky now. I personally do not make enough income to get my finance here. That is my main thought. My mother is supported by my very rich aunt her house ect. Mom has no income. I work fastfood. I have NOONE that can co sponsor. what can i do? iThank you

Dont let these posters get you down, file for a K1 for your g/f and fill out the papers and wait. If you are married you can have a co sponsor which im sure someone would do for you to help. Just get married and get a co sponsor.

All of these people telling you to return to the philippines, maybe they should come to the philippines and live instead? Since it seems so easy for them to tell you that

Your post makes no sense because it ignores facts. K1 is for a fiancee. There is no girlfriend visa. If they marry, they can use a joint sponsor but as a fiance, he's going to need sufficient income of his own. The only possible cosponsor or joint sponsor mentioned so far is a mother who doesn't support herself either. Just what ARE you thinking?

The advice you give isn't very sound. "just get married and get a co-sponsor". He stated clearly he has "no one", not including his rich aunt. If he can't count on his rich aunt who is already supporting his mom now, chances are she won't help in the future".

Often times, there is an assumption that by coming to the United States, that individuals who live in poverty in other countries (like the Philippines), can somehow change their luck and become "rich and wealthy". In the eyes of their Filipino-counterpart, the "poverty income level" set by UCSIS would be considered "middle class or higher" in the Philippines."

The solution of having him move to the Philippines to be with his fiancee is one with merit. He clearly states that there is more in life than money. And there are many ex-pats who do move to the Philippines and other countries because their $$ goes further there than it does here in the U.S.

That is just not very helpful advice - "file for a K1 and wait"? "you can have a cosponsor which I'm sure someone would do for you"? "easy for them to tell you that"?

The OP has explained:

1. insufficient income to meet Affidavit of Support requirements

2. NOONE can co sponsor (OP's emphasis)

So "all of these people" have tried to give constructive advice: get a second/third job, re-train for a better job, beg a relative (questionable, and must marry first), or move to the Philippines. We're not trying to "get you down" - these are the options available. "Just file and wait" is not a helpful option.

If you have a minor child (even if that child does not live with you) then you will need an income that meets the requirement for a household of 3 (you, your child, and fiancee). That amount is currently $23,162. That would increase the amount of hours needed from a second job.

Yes, you will need to have seen each other face to face within the last two years when you file the petition.

You can earn the money to sponsor your fiancee. It will be very tough but you really only need to prove that you are making the required amount when filling. When I filled for my husband I wanted to be the only sponsor. At the time I was a full time graduate student and in order to make enough money I worked a full time night job and two part time jobs. I worked 7 days a week and picked up every odd job I could. That year I barely made the income requirements (I took 3 months off to get married), but because my income from the 3 jobs was way above the requirement my husband was granted the visa.

Dude, make it your second job to search for other job opportunities, do whatever you can to find another job in an industry other than fast food. look for construction work, etc, they pay way more. Once you get a new job you will have to work for a while and submit recent pay stubs as evidence. Work hard to find a good job so you can support her, she deserves it. I wouldnt move to Phillipines but if thats what you want go for it!

P.S. search outside of Kentucky for jobs, ask friends/family in other states for help getting a job in a diff state,.

Good luck!
