Hi Guys,

So I just got my reminder letter in the mail the other day but it was sent to my old address. Thankfully I had my mail forwarded. We moved into our house back in September and at the time I changed my address online.

I just went and changed it again.......Has anyone had any issues with this?

I am due to file mid April, my green card expires July 7th.

I also for the life of me cannot remember my login for the uscis website...lol yay me! :innocent:

The same thing happened to us. We changed the address and filled out the proper forms in 2009 and they sent the reminder notice to my old address. The person that lives at the old address knows foward the letter through a friend. My husband did biometrics a last week and on Monday we received a reminder notice for ROC. I don't know what's going on

You can go online and file a change of address https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa.Terms, or you can call USCIS (I've read of people doing that) just to make sure they have it changed in their system.

Hi everyone,

I hope my reply helps everyone. I moved before filling for ROC and received reminder letter at the old address. I called 1800# to confirm my new address, the lady told me that when i fill my application for i-751, I should put down my new address on the application and send on separate piece of paper my last address and I should also mention that I moved to the new house on x-Date and that this is my permanent address now. I followed her instructions and everything went smoothly. I got my extension and biometrics letter on the new address. Hope i was help good luck

When we move, we have to be careful to file both the AR-11 and the I-865 in timely, complete fashion. Simply changing our address with the Post Office ain't enough.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The same happend to me today. We moved a year ago and we changed our address with uscis - e-filed AR-11 and mailed I-865 - and kept all the copies of the forms. But today I got the letter from USCIS and it was forwarded from my previous address. I called 1-800 number and they told me to make an infopass. So I was wondering if that infopass is really needed. Or should I just make another change of address online? Thanks. All answers will be appreciated.

I am a little worried (okay, terrified) because I failed to understand that we were supposed to report change of address within 10 days of move. We moved to a new address right after POE which was in 2009 and as I am preparing for next step (lifting conditions)to send paperwork in September of this year, I just now read this change of address deal!!!! We have received all correspondence on my parents address which we used on all forms in the past.

I quickly submitted AR-11 online just now and will mail I-865 tomorrow, but I am terrified because it says failure to report address change withing 10 days is in violation of my husband's visa conditions :((

I was thinking of including a letter with I-865 to show good faith, my husband's drivers license and all documents are issued for the new address, but I am still terrified of consequnces that we did not report the change of address on time.

Has anyone had any problems with this? It says consequence can be deportation !!?!? or fine.

Help! Anyone else got caught up in finally living together and just forgot about reporting new address? Tell me we will be fine?

Hi Hon! Long time no chat!!! :)

I hope that I'll be ok. I'm going to just fill out the the AR-11 and 1-865 and also include a letter in my package when I file my ROC this weekend...(I've been so busy with work, I am off tomorrow, it's time to buckle down!!!)

I'm sure I'll be ok.

:) Hope you are well!!!

It seems like every person who has moved since AOS has their ROC reminder sent to the AOS address. I think it's just something in whatever software generates the reminders...it generates a letter to where the GC was sent. I don't think you need to change the address again with USCIS or make an infopass appointment or prove you sent the AR-11 when you file ROC. Just file with your current address. Your NOA and subsequent mail from USCIS will come to your current address as written on the ROC application. Ours did.

Only if you never notified USCIS at the time you moved should you do a change of address now.

THANK YOU!After reading so many posts on the same problem, I decided to skip the infopass. I am just going to attach the copy of my AR11 to the my I-751 package.

Oops! I sent the Ar-11 but did not send the 865. Is this major? Like others here, I received my notice at the old address. I will be filing the 750 soon. What should I do about the address?

I had this problem too. I called to ask why the address was wrong as I had changed it and I was told that the department who sends the reminders uses the address you gave when you filed for adjustment of status. I was assured that when you file for removal of conditions they will use the address on the form you send them. It's just a case of databases not being linked so they use outdated information. It's nothing to worry about. ;)
