US carpet bombing of Cambodia caused the Cambodian Government to collapse and the areas in which the Khmer Rouge then took hold closely match the pattern of bombing.

Yes our target was the Viet-cong. It was a lose lose situation. I find it disturbing that your anger lies with the US and not Pol Pot and his chronies.

Really? All that has been said about this issue and this is what you have a issue with, interesting.

Discontent?

The subject is rational discussion so I find it odd you'd characterize fishdude's position that way when he has given no indication whatsoever that he is actually angry.

Perhaps you're projecting? Are you angry? If so, what about?

Its seems like nitpicking to me. Although I could of worded it better my point was reasonable and clear.

You could have, yes. And yes, it is nitpicky but then again in a medium where we communicate with words and words alone, words do matter.

But hey - you're the director of intellectual capital around here, so I bow to your superior status.

And as director I must say you have shamed the board. You need a timeout. :D

Also yes it does make me angry. We were trying to do what was right and people like Duncan always want to focus on our mistakes and take the situation out of context.

Now, I have to disagree with you there. JFK and his Papist leanings led us to help a corrupt fellow Papist to disregard an international accord. But, that is just me. We didn't belong in S.E. Asia to begin with.

Rational Discussion FAIL. ;)

“Insist on yourself; never imitate. Your own gift you can present every moment with the cumulative force of a whole life’s cultivation; but of the adopted talent of another, you have only an extemporaneous half-possession. That which each can do best, none but his Maker can teach him.” — Emerson

I agree that we shouldnt have got involved but we had good intentions and as we know good intentions pave the path to hell.
