On form I-129F Line 20 states where fiance will apply for visa, so you could put Montreal on this line, that way NVC will send the application there.

When I filed I had no choice there was only one consulate in China that processes K1 visa.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You can choose either one so since you are closer and you have family there you could also choose Vancouver. Just have your fiance indicate your choice on line 20.

YuandDan: Not true. K3s from Manitoba west go to Vancouer, everywhere east, it's Montreal. All CR-1/IR-1 go to Montreal, regardless of where you live.

From the US Consulate in Vancouver:

The Consulate in Vancouver processes fiancé(e) cases for citizens of Canada, or aliens who are permanent residents... Applicants must also be residing in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon or the Northwest Territories. All other applicants in Canada are processed at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal.

Also just to make sure, did you get married in Canada?

Because from what I understand is that you do your interview in the country you get married in. The CR1 visa interview is done in the country you are from. So if you got married in Mexico... you would do your K3 visa in Mexico. I'm glad we didn't opt for that one. :)

uscis will correct it and they send it to the correct consulate. If your worried about it email NVC and clarify it. Calgary isn't a option.

Feb. 15/ 07 --- GC approved

don't worry, Nvc will send it to the correct consulate. I had put Toronto on mine because I didn't know any better, and they sent it to Montreal with no problem.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

if she was applying for a CR1 visa, she'd have gone to Montreal. No matter where in Canada you live, if you're applying for a CR1 or IR1 (green card) then your interview will be in Montreal.

If you're applying for a K visa, then where your interview will be depends on where you live. If you're in Manitoba or points west, then your interview will be in Vancouver. If you're in Ontario or points east, then your interview will be in Montreal.
