Another question, every letter I've ever mailed to fiance or my friends in the past has never included a postal/zipe code. It's always been like:

CITY/DISTRICT

LARGER CITY NAME P.O.

PARISH/JA/W.I.

Now that I'm working on these I-129F forms, I'm seeing so many spots for zip codes and am getting paranoid. I looked something up online and it said that yes, Jamaica has postal codes. I am so unfamiliar with this.

Can anyone give me a definate answer on this?

Do I leave it blank, put N/A, put NONE, or is there a postal code??

Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the Yardie room!

They are well aware that Jamaica has no zip codes so therefore I would leave it blank. We did on our forms. When I mail stuff to JA I never use a zip code. Hope this helps.

This is very note worthy to be read: http://jamaica-glean...ead/lead31.html

Thanks for the welcome!

I think maybe I'm getting overly paranoid/obsessive over this address thing but as I'm doing the I-129F it asks about fiance's address as a:

Number and Street

Town or City

State or Province

I could write it how I mail things to him

Name of the small community

Ocho Rios P.O.

St. Ann

OR

Small community

Same small community

St. Ann

Because there's no number or street that line is just the community name. But then when it asks for the city or town name, I wonder if I do then use Ocho Rios because that's where his P.O. box is at...

Sorry if this is so very redundant and been asked a million times! Good to know how you all have done it in the past too!

Use the address you use to mail things to him - they are familiar with the addresses in Jamaica, most do not have street addresses. Not every country does, nor does every country use zip codes.

I always make sure I put N/A or Not Applicable in the zip code space. That's from a tip a read years ago to not leave anything thing on the form blank even if it's not applicable..I would just put N/A.

There was a member that got a RFE Request for Evidence (sent by USCIS or NVC to ask for additional information) for not having a zip code for Jamaica. It could've been she got the one person that has no idea about jamaica not having zip codes. As I'm sure most of the reps processing the applications are aware that Jamaica doesn't have zip codes.

Hi...does anyone know what's the earliest you should get your police record? Does it have to be within a certain timeframe from the interview date?

Police Report is only valid for six months. so you wouldn't want to get it too far in advance. If you want to get it prior to submitting an application for clearance validation, then that is another thing.

I have the same question! We were going to get it next week...

Six months! Good to know... What about going into the local police station to check ahead of time, just to know what's on the record, if anything? Can that be done?

Although it's valid for 6 months, there was a time not too long ago where they blue slipped people and made them get new reports, dated within the last week - I wouldn't get it too far in advance - unless you need to know what is on it.

And no, you can't go into the local station and ask to see what's on it - you have to actually pay and get a report.
