the problem is that I am Chinese but working and residency in Australia for more than 3 years now. Will be in Sydney embassy.

we already submitted the policy check for me in Australia and China with the original petition 6 months ago. Do I need to provide new police check with more fresh date?

It is quicker and easy to get the one in Australia, but for the police check in China. It will take like 1.5 months to get one since it is in Chinese and i need the certified translation and etc.

Do i have to redo the policy check again?

another question is: Am i supposed to take all original document? my fiance has a divorce before. Do i need to take his original divorce decree with me to the interview?

THANKS!!!!

I believe the police clearance is good for 1 year. I don't know about the Divorce Decree. I have not read anything about that.

original divorce decrees must be submitted on interview day

police certificate has a 'time' factor on it - good for 1 year , from issuance to interview date)

why to submit PCC with I-129F? it wasn't required, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thank you both!!!

i just checked the Chinese police check and found it due May 20....and i would never be able to get the interview day before that (i was expecting the interview day to be June at the earliest or July most probably....)

ugghhh....so i will have to redo it again....:(

yeah, we just wanted to submit as much as we could just in case for the sake of safety...now i have to redo it...it's a pain..

you can get marriage status certificate in australia at the china embassy (actually)

re: police clearance certificate done in china -

ok you - yer in a hukuo book somewhere, with the rest of yer family. Any one of 'them' listed in the hukuo book can go into that same police office you used last time, apply for you. Later, when it's issued, need 'notarial translation' or white book on it - usually can get it done same day or same week.

So, IMO, the longest wait time for you on the PCC will be the transit time from yer relative to yer address in OZ.

thanks!! this is very helpful and i will check it out at the embassy for the marriage status.

as for the notarial translation...i went to the notary office and it took 1 month (or 3 weeks) to get back the notarial translation...Or i do not need it to be notarised? or notarised the translation? can you tell me which of the following is enough?

1. original Police Clearance from China in Chinese (obviously need this)

2. I took it to the Notary office and get the original clearance notarised;

3. I ask Notarary office to translate it to English and got those translation notarised as well (do i need to do this?? or can i just get the original Police Clearance in Chinese to Australia, and get Australian certified translator to do teh translation?)

thank you very much for your help! Really appreciate it.

3 weeks on translation? wow.

doesn't have to be 'the white book' - can use any translator / translation service.
