I-130 initial review and accept same day?

This may be an obvious question. I got the e-mail and text saying that my I-130 was received. I log into USCIS and it says "initial review" stage. Does that seem like it has moved faster? Or does that mean it's just on its way to California?

That means sit back and wait 5 months. Then maybe you will hear something such as it has been approved. Seriously don't expect to hear anything unless they send you a request for information or evidence.

Initial Review is the first stage.

When you are on that page, on the left there is link to "Sign into your account" (it may say sign up if you havent done it yet.)

Once youve logged into that, add your case, and then the "last updated" date is what we at VJ refer to as touched!

I just wanted to add that they don't always log when the "touch" the file. I have gotten an RFE and notices in the mail without any "touches".

"Initial Review" begins with your file being built and put in a box to wait it's turn. It will stay in "initial review" until either they request more evidence, deny or approve the petition.
