There is apparently a scam going on in Canada with a letter purported to be from Canada Revenue Agency telling people that there is a problem with their return and they need to verify some of their personal information. This letter is not from Canada Revenue Agency and they are warning people NOT to respond. Here is the link:

As some on this forum may be finding themselves in a new tax situation with recent relocations to the US or recent changes to their tax circumstances through marriage, they may be more susceptible to this type of scam as their personal circumstances have indeed changed and it may seem reasonable that CRA may request more information so I thought I would post this warning here.
