I would like to submit my form asap, yet I did not change my name with SSN, driver’s license, etc, I just got the divorce decree. Can I still apply now, they ask for my SSN on the application for and although I do not think this number will change, I am wondering ..

Appreciate your help!

Your SSN will stay the same after the name change.

Since you can submit a name change as part of the N400 - could you not handle it that way?

Section D asks if you would like to change your name Yes or No and then provides a box in which to print the new name

Good luck

Assume you are a woman that preferred to return back to your maiden name. All you need to do is to change it on the N-400 and submit your divorce papers with your application showing you returned back to your maiden name after the divorce. If this is the case. Same with SS and your drivers' license. no big deal, just do it. Also assume you are applying for the five year.
