Someone else may be able to jump in here and confirm - but I believe the embassy has the most current information, and THEN it's relayed to the DOS... so perhaps it could take a few days for them to update their system?

Not 100% sure on this one...

No, not true. Is is best to leave calling DOS till the end of the working day in London, but DOS do have realtime updates.

Can someone please confirm whether or not you send in form DS156K in duplicate also?

on one page of the US EMBASSY website it mentions in duplicate and the other i doesn't even though the actual form states on top 'to be used with form DS156' which i am sending in duplicate?

What you will mail to London once you receive Packet 3 or confirm your case is logged in:

DS-230, part 1 (1 copy) (Sign it) That means only page 1-2. K1s do not need p.3-4

DS-156 (2 copies) (Sign it). It generates a barcode when you print it.

DS-156K (1 copy) (Do Not sign it) You sign at the interview. It’s an oath.

DS-157 (2 copies) (No signature)

Okay, put it this way. I only sent one copy in and my call to DOS informed me that my case has been approved for interview, but not scheduled yet.

I just dug out my packet 3 letter, which states: DS230 Part I, 2 x DS156, DS-156K, 2 x DS157 and DS-2001

No problem.

Calling every other day at the moment. It has been 'approved for interview' since last friday. So we are hoping to be scheduled a date soon.

Never wait on London to get info. I think they use the slowest mail option possible. For all the money that we have paid, you would think they would get packet 3 and appointment letters out on a next day delivery basis......... I guess they are just saving their pennies to build their new Embassy.

Just called DOS tonight. Interview scheduled for April 15th. Exactly one month after i sent in packet 3 forms.
