Hello,

I am a US Citizen applying for my mother's green card who is currently in US on visitor's visa. She is a widow. What do I enter in Current Husband Section and in Former husband section in form G-325A?

Also, I do not know her mother's maiden name. What should I enter in Mother (Maiden Name) Section?

Help please. TIA.

Did your mother enter the US with the intention to adjust status? In current Husband section put her current husband full name or if she's divorce or single put NONE or N/A, Former husband section put her ex husband full name if she's been married before or if not put NONE or N/A. Ask your mother for your grandmother's maiden name or someone else that might remember it.

No, she did not visit US with the intention of staying here. Also, she has only been married once and her husband (my father) died 7 years back. Do I still enter her husband's name in the current husband area?

No, do not put your father's name in current. Legally, she is single. That may sound strange but since your father passed away, she is legally able to marry, and since she is not married, she is legally single. Hope that makes sense. You will put your father's information in the former husband section.

If you cannot find out her mother's maiden name, just write 'unknown'.

Thank you for the response. What confused me is that in Former Husband section, there is a Data and Place or Termination of Marriage. So I am assuming this is only by Divorce? What do I enter here?

Current husband section should be NONE OR N/A

Former husband should be your fathers full name, as for the date the marriage was terminated I believe that should be the date your father died, and remember to put the place of the marriage.

When a spouse die, the other is free to re-marry with the death certificate handy.

In the Date and Place of Termination of Marriage, I am writing the date of his death, Place of his death, Deceased. Hopefully this will work?
