Hello VJ friends -

I have a question about the documents the USEM in Manila will ask for from fiance during her interview because there seems to be a bit of confusion regaridng the information my fiance is receiving from other members. So can someone who has been through the interview process clarify if:

1. I need to send her my W2's?

2. Bank statements?

**I was told by other members on VJ that if I send recent paystubs and letter from my boss regarding salary as well as 1040 tax form for 2010 and 2009 this is all the Embassy would need proving my income. My salary is well above the US poverty line for the both of us. So i dont know why the Embassy would need my W2's and bank statements**

Thank you -

Thomas

A letter from a boss is easily forged and doesn't carry much weight in interiew. Heck you could have your best friend hire you and state he is gonna pay your $100K per year, as a rule a employer statement is just a snapshot in time. W-2's, Bank Statement, Copies of statements show history.......

Send W-2's, Bank Statements, and copies of your taxes

No bank statementes are needed at all if your income qualifies. Bank statements are only needed if your income does not qualify and you are showing assets to qualify.

Hi what is the income requirement? Is it the US poverty line that needs to be 200%? It is just me and my fiance and I checked the poverty line for two people and I make well over the requirement. If i need to send bank statements for past year that is over 150 pages of paper my goodness!

For 2 people the requirement is $18,212. You will need to have that amount also once you try to adjust her status. I just hope we make it as my income is only $9240 from disability. I hope they take into account my savings, stocks, 401k, and property adding up to $121,000. But we will see

Thanks for the help. I make well over that $18K and was so curious as to why they would need bank statements when I send her my tax return 2010 and 2009 as well as 2010 and 2009 W2's. hope they do not ask for bank statements as they did for some her friends on VJ.
