what is a national identification number?

is this my SIN number in canada?

how do canadians answer the question about prior visits to the USA?

i have been there numerous times.

how do i express this because there is NO way that i can remember all the dates of each and every time that i have been to the USA.

please help.

Yes some countries have a national ID number so put it here. In the USA that would probably be SSN.

Since the US and Canada have an open border they understand that you may have visited many times so just put the date of your last visit.

No the SSN is not a national ID number. Nor is a driver's license number. Although, since the USA does not have a national ID and most Americans do have a SSN, and a DLN once they are old enough, those numbers are often used as surrogates. But not for immigration purposes.

Likewise, the Canadian SIN is not a national ID number.

or do i just bring it to the interview?

the ds-230 and the checklist is all i have to fax, correct?
