hello, i have a 3 year old daughter (IR2 category), will she be needing an Affidavit of Support? my husband (US Citizen) is in the States for almost a year now. I filed for CRBA she was denied (I knew she would be, but the embassy will ask for it so we went and paid anyways), I was reading at the NVC webpage and i came across this

Effective immediately, an I-864 will not/not be required for the following categories of immigrants:

© a child classified IR-2 who was born (in or out of wedlock) to a parent who is now a U.S. Citizen, provided the child will be admitted to the U.S. while still under age 18 and will reside in the United States with, and in the custody of, the U.S. Citizen parent;

anyone who can shed some light? thanks in advance :blush:

Is your husband the father of the child or is the child going to live with the US Citizen father? If not, then it does not apply to you.
