Time for me to sign off. Concerning our Dear Friend, Nagi's creatinine is in the stratosphere. Don't know her eGFR or if they'll schedule a biopsy. More than just about anyone else here I know exactly what that means. I'm praying that she heals sufficiently that and nothing more need be done. I'm praying for her good health. I'm just going to keep praying for a miracle. :innocent:

• High creatinine blood levels. High creatinine blood levels can mean serious kidney damage or disease is present. Kidney damage can be caused by a life-threatening infection, shock, cancer, or low blood flow to the kidneys. Other conditions that can cause high blood creatinine levels include blockage of the urinary tract (such as by a kidney stone), heart failure, dehydration, excessive blood loss that causes shock, gout, or muscle conditions (such as rhabdomyolysis, gigantism, acromegaly, myasthenia gravis, muscular dystrophy, and polymyositis). Usually a high blood creatinine level means that the creatinine clearance value is lower than normal.
• High creatinine clearance. High creatinine clearance values can be caused by strenuous exercise, muscle injury (especially crushing injuries), burns, carbon monoxide poisoning, hypothyroidism, and pregnancy.
• High BUN-to-creatinine ratio. High BUN-to-creatinine ratios occur with sudden (acute) kidney failure, which may be caused by shock or severe dehydration. A blockage in the urinary tract (such as a kidney stone) can cause a high BUN-to-creatinine ratio. A very high BUN-to-creatinine ratio may be caused by bleeding in the digestive tract or respiratory tract .

Nagi's problems with kidney stones are well-known and I know that those particles can damage the glomeruli, especailly Bowman's capsule. The body responds to insult (stones, etc.) by reinforcing the structure which means thickening of the vessel walls and less flexibility and concomitant loss of function. This is what I fear. No black, tarry stools so that means that there appears ot be no bleeding into the digestive tract but I am concerned with the estimated glomerular filtration rate (if your glomeruli are shot then so are your kidneys). If a biopsy of the kidney is ordered, I'm going to be beside myself. I can only pray that no permanent damage has been done. (F) (F)

You are the One I turn to for help in moments of weakness and times of need. I ask You to be with Your servant Nagi in this illness. Psalm 107:20 says that You send out Your Word and heal. So then, please send Your healing Word to your servant. In the name of Jesus, drive out all infirmity and sickness from her body.

Dear Lord, I ask You to turn this weakness into strength, suffering into compassion, sorrow into joy, and pain into comfort for others. May Nagi trust in your goodness and hope in Your faithfulness, even in the middle of this suffering. Let her be filled with patience and joy in Your presence as she waits for Your healing touch.

Please restore Nagi to full health, dear Father. Remove all fear and doubt from her heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit, and may You, Lord, be glorified through her life.

As You heal and renew Your servant, Lord, may Nagi bless and praise You.

All of this I pray in the name of Jesus Christ.

It's been in UPS hands for 21 days. They've already billed us for the shipment (automatically sent after 10-15 days). We sure aren't paying this bill!

It's left JFK. Oops, sorry, it's still at JFK. It's in London and going to Leeds in a couple of days. Oops can't transfer it because we're waiting for more items in a consolidation. Oops now we don't show it was ever received in London.

Latest update from Nagi. She's still undergoing tests. She wants to go home today but we'll see what happens. Don't know about the kidney function so we're going to wait and see what the verdict is. Her other health conditions are being examined but it looks like she is diabetic, which we knew for quite some time. I am greatly concerned about comorbidity but we just have to wait for the test results and pray.

Nagi is being discharged as I type, but it will be a bit of time before she's back to her full Nagi-ness.

only cos I demanded to be discharged. No biopsy...yet. I will go back if necessary, but both kidneys functioning at 12 %, with the right increasing in percentage. The left is shot. There was talk of dialysis in the near future. Don't feel like typing or putting a smile on the VJ troll army's twisted faces. not at this time.

Peace and Blessings to you, Nagi. I'm praying very hard for 90+% GFR. Since it is an estimate based on creatinine clearance we'll see what happens when all that ####### gets flushed out of your system. If you're at 50%+ GFR then you've got time. I was planning on becoming an ophthalmologist not a nephrologist.
