Hi everyone! I'm originally from Phoenix, AZ, but I moved to Dubai in August for a job and met my bf here (we lived in the same building and were in training at the same time!) but he ended up having to go home in November for family reasons. He lives in Joburg, South Africa, and we've been keeping our relationship going strong. Our tentative plan is for me to stay here in Dubai for another 3-4 years to save money, then move to SA for a while with him while we work on his visa to the States, so I won't really be needing this site for a while but I want to make sure I get a headstart. I will probably be doing a K1 visa (I really want to get married at home) but I know things can change.

Anyway, other than one post I had about my bf's past history in the US (he spent 3 years on a work visa here) I've been lurking like mad and reading up on a bunch of stuff. I was concerned because my bf left the country without canceling his visa and was worried that he was still in the US and his employer canceled it, but I was answered that it would only be a 180 day ban if that were the case, and we probably won't be applying for a visa for about 4 years or so.
