Is it okay to send money each month

Hi Everyone,

I have a fiancee in China and we are filling in forms to apply for a K-1 soon. I want my fiancee to quit work in China and enroll in an English School to learn English to better converse before she gets to the interview and comes to the US. Will sending her monies every month for her living expenses be a red flag or be a reason for denial to the Immigration Dept. ? Thanks for your reply.

i dont think so. i send money to my fiancee, when i asked her to stop wroking and study. i actually tell her to keep all the money transfer paper work as evidences for our relationship.(of course, the VO didnt look at them.) i wont do monthly thought, because they usually charge $14 to send money over. i usually send 6 months worth everytime.

That is a good price to send money, it was costing me $60 a wire transfer!

WHAAAA??? $14-60 per transfer??? I gave my fiancee a ATM card from my Commerce Account and she took out money as needed to pay for visa items. It costs us around $2.50 per transaction for the international ATM fee. Look into this and save yourself some money.

I don't know about $3,000 transaction via an ATM but those $2.50 fees would add up pretty quickly for us.

you should always send money and keep it is proff you are taking care of your wife. However, there is plenty of other evidece that look at besides money.

Thanks for all your replies. It costs $60 to wire monies to her up to $5000. Thanks for the tip of keeping all the paperwork for receipt of the monies. I was told that too by my attorney. Since there were overwhelming advice that it is okay , I sent the money over already. Thanks again.

I do not even send any money to her, she has her own job and can take care of herself, we work together 50/50 when we are together in China too. But I have Bank of America and there are no ATM fees or charges if you use a China Construction Bank ATM and word is if you wire BoA to a CCB account, it is free as well, but never checked that part
